Many of the DMV's top teams faced off in early-season action at St. John's College High School this weekend, and the first day was packed with action! These few guys were above the rest of the competition quite clearly in their respective matchups. This article will break down those top performers' days.

6'2 G [player_tooltip player_id='1414533' first='Patrick' last='Curtin'] '25 | Glenelg Country

Curtin proved once again that he is a dominant scoring guard in iso or pick-and-roll action. Tremendous shooting off the dribble in the midrange and beyond the arc. Finished with a huge tally of his points in the 2nd half to fend off Cardozo for the wire-to-wire win.

5'11 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2612056' first='Cameron' last='Young'] '25 | Cardozo (DC)

Cam Young started the boys' slate of games off with a bang as he came onto the scene and set the tone quick. Variety of baskets from various spots on the floor, and he had great vision finding teammates when the defense closed in on him. Very solid day 1 from the senior guard.

6'11 C [player_tooltip player_id='2148853' first='Deng' last='Jok'] '25 | Glenelg Country

Deng imposed his will on the backboard, cleaning up the glass on offense and defense alike. Put back a lot of misses and converted broken plays into and-1 opportunities.

6'5 F [player_tooltip player_id='1782692' first='Ripp' last='Kodi'] '26 | Bishop Ireton (VA)

[player_tooltip player_id='1782692' first='Ripp' last='Kodi'] unleashed his lethal shooting skill and lit up Carmel's defense all game, keeping Ireton as close as he could. Kodi showed nice skill on defense timing a few layups at the basket. Tipped a couple jumpshots out of the air too.

6'4 G [player_tooltip player_id='1782668' first='Tristen' last='Wilson'] '26 | Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Wilson was the ingredient that mixed it all together for Mt. Carmel today. Really had a complete game. Rebounded well, made smart passes, shot the ball when he needed. Had a big 4th quarter to seal the win

5'11 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1782663' first='Devin' last='Toatley'] '26 | St. John's (DC)

Toatley was electric on offense, scoring one of the biggest totals of the day (27). Nothing the defense could do with him, and his service was much needed to beat a tough Georgetown Prep squad in their season openers.

6'5 SF [player_tooltip player_id='1782660' first='Qayden' last='Samuels'] '26 | Bishop McNamara

Elite 3-level scoring prowess. Showed a deeper level to his scoring ability in this early season game. Didn't have the dominant performance he might've liked, but his impact on the game and the baskets he produces are quite evident. One of the top scorers in Maryland, now mixing up his scoring intake.

6'6 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2353562' first='Ian' last='Condon'] '27 | Sidwell Friends (DC)

Very patient and complete work for Condon. Showed nice footwork down low, pump-faked when necessary, finished layups with either hand. Adjusted well to defensive pressure and came out with his two often. Had a nice-looking shot, got a couple jump shots to fall. Solid rebounder, strong with the ball. Good game for the young Sidwell big man.
