Rankings are best viewed as snapshots of where a class currently is, especially with the younger grades. This is particularly true with an attempt to take a snapshot of where this current crop of freshman is as their high school begins. 2028 has an interesting blinds of lanky built wing prospects, who if they keep growing will change the trajectory of how this class is viewed regionally and even nationally. Changes will be made throughout these players careers as new names emerge, current names further develop and more.
It's no surprise that the quick processing, charismatic lead guard is at the top of the class. He played up nationally at the 15U level with [program_tooltip program_id='2078402' first='Team' last='Griffin'], and it's hard to pinpoint a hole in his game. There's great vision and processing speed with how he sees the game. He's a hunter on defense, with quick hands and instincts. As a scorer, there's the developing foundation as a three level scorer, with off the dribble jumpers or crafty rim finishing. It only takes a viewing or two of "Bubba D" to watch how he carries himself, plays and communicates on the court to see he has "it" when it comes to being a big time guard.

Freshman playing varsity for Edmond programs are rare, and it's even rarer to start for Edmond North. The last to do so was Dylan Warlick, and that's some big shoes for Copeland to fill from the recently graduated two time state champion. The smooth and skilled lefty seems very poised to do just that. Right now he's a sniper with good size, and flashes of the movement profile to turn into a big time all around scorer. There will be up and downs this season but he's a no brainer as a prospect with clear D1 upside if he continues to put the work in.

Coleman impressed in a recent viewing of one of his first varsity games. Appears to be the complete package, with a skillfulness and gracefulness to his movements beyond his years. Plays fast but under control and already starting to play around the rim with his finishes, blocks and rebounding. Great representative of the versatility and potential that seems to be spread throughout the class.

Long armed, light on his feet forward, with the potential to dominate the paint on both ends of the court. Early Hudl highlights pinpoint him as having good instincts and timing as a shot blocker. Good potential as a back to the basket player as well, with ball fakes and improving footwork, which checks out as he's the son of a coach. Huge upside for Hopgood, as he comes from a basketball pedigree and looks the part of a future D1 forward.

Already plays strong and fast, will have a chance to make an early impact for Del City. Slashing wing, with crafty finishing ability. Motor runs hot on both ends of the floor, leading to second chance and transition points. Type of prospect who hits the ground running with an identity as a bulldog type guard/wing as a strong foundation. Then will continue to add more scoring skill to that promising foundation.

Mega athlete who already lives above the rim. Along with the vertical explosiveness, has track speed and elite short area quickness too. Will be a human highlight reel early for the Buffalos, especially as an off the dribble threat.
Early pick for best pure shooter in the class. Silky touch on his jumpers from DEEP and in the mid-range, with high arcing shots that always look they're going in. Great all around foundation, seems to have an early understanding of when to look for his shot and when to make the right play as a passer. Shooting will always keep him in the conversation, maximizing his athleticism and becoming more fluid in his movements will help him unlock his full potential.

Another player on this list with an impressive basketball pedigree and son of a coach, Gaines also appears to among the top shooters in this class. Looks very good as a catch and shooter, complete with movement shooting, or putting the ball on the floor one or two dribbles and shooting. Starting to tap into more athleticism with impressive transition finishing. Huge potential for Gaines to mature into one of the best all around scorers in this class.

The best handles in the class, Wilborn is an uptempo guard with the ball on a string. Speedy in transition and quick to get downhill in the half-court. Deep range from three, with crafty finishing as the rim. Quality floor vision, complete with flair as a passing. Currently on the smaller side, but very fun to watch as he enters high school already with a super high skill level.

Closing out the top 10 with another prospect who appears to only being scratching the surface of his gifts when it comes to size and athleticism. Can already put it on the floor a bit, with his long strides gracefully eating up ground on drives. Good in a catch and shooting role, which should help him contribute sooner rather than later. Will have growing pains this year, but the clear upside is there for Black to play a pivotal role in a Crossings program that will continue to be among OKC's best.
