Batemon's size (6-foot-3), length, quickness and all-out effort are all positive traits defensively for Academy of Science, and those attributes figure to translate well to Iowa State next season. Offensively, Batemon scores very well in transition and can slash his way to the basket as well. He can absolutely get on fire from outside the three-point arc, and his aggressiveness with the ball in his hands often leads to trips to the foul line. Batemon is the senior leader for another outstanding team at Academy of Science.

Mr. Smooth is a fun player to watch. His upside is off the charts as he continues to grow into his body and add weight/strength, and his versatility on both ends of the court is a major asset for coach Steve Showalter at Dominican. Womack has stellar length, a smooth shooting stroke and almost effortless verticality that often leads to block/altered shots or ripping down of rebounds off the rim. The Syracuse recruit can score inside and outside, and is coming off a strong junior season where he averaged 21.9 points and 9.4 rebounds. Womack is the lone returning starter for Dominican so he'll need to shoulder a big leadership role for the Knights in 2024-25.

Lake Mills is expected to have one of the state's better teams at the Division 3 level, and the presence of Bender in the lineup is a big reason why coach Steve Hicklin's squad is looking for big things in 2024-25. Bender's athleticism and aggressiveness are apparent each time he has the ball in his hands, and he's able to score from all three levels. He can post-up smaller opponents, drill three-point shots and take defenders his size off the bounce with his quick burst. Defensively, Bender can match-up with bigs and perimeter players due to his mobility, strength and get-it-done mentality. The NCAA Division II recruit for Minnesota State Mankato has scored 1,616 points in his three years of varsity hoops and is coming off a junior season where he averaged 22.0 points and 4.7 rebounds.

Quick-on-quick definitely is the skinny on Hamilton on the basketball court. There aren't any players in the state with more quickness with the ball in their hands than Hamilton. The left-handed point guard is shifty on his drives to the basket and his explosiveness allows him to finish near the rim. In the open court, Hamilton is nothing but a blur. He moves well laterally and has quick hands, making him a strong perimeter defender. Also a stellar wide receiver on the Angels' WIAA Division 4 state-championship football team, Hamilton scored four touchdowns and accounted for 275 all-purpose yards in St. Catherine's 26-22 win over Baldwin-Woodville in the title game. He has a few scholarship offers for basketball and will be the unquestioned leader for a young, but very good St. Catherine's squad in 2024-25.

Behn is hopeful he can help Kewaskum to a big season after the Indians went 12-13 a year ago. A terrific shooter with stellar length, size and shooting range, Behn committed to NCAA Division II Parkside. His collegiate potential is outstanding as he adds some much-needed weight and strength to his long frame. Kewaskum has a new coach in Tyler Enright, a former assistant at Oconomowoc, and Behn is one of four starters back. He averaged 22.4 points and 10.0 rebounds as a junior and currently ranks second on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,142 points. Behn's leadership will be of utmost importance this winter as Kewaskum looks to move up in the competitive East Central Conference standings.

HONORABLE MENTION:

[player_tooltip player_id='1561732' first='Bryce' last='Appel'], 6-6, Sr., Edgerton
[player_tooltip player_id='2432853' first='Evan' last='Clausen'], 6-5, Sr., Baldwin-Woodville
[player_tooltip player_id='1847792' first='Donovan' last='Davis'], 6-8, Soph., Freedom
[player_tooltip player_id='1970502' first='Cade' last='Dirkse'], 6-2, Jr., Oostburg
[player_tooltip player_id='1412880' first='Javante' last='Edwards'], 6-1, Sr., Carmen Northwest
[player_tooltip player_id='1544740' first='Aiden' last='Hawkinson'], 6-3, Sr., Waupun
[player_tooltip player_id='1390442' first='Agape' last='Keys Jr.'], 6-3, Sr., Milwaukee Academy of Science
[player_tooltip player_id='2390176' first='Lucas' last='Ludlum'], 6-2, Sr., Platteville
[player_tooltip player_id='2025184' first='Wes' last='Rahn'], 6-7, Sr., Lakeside Lutheran
[player_tooltip player_id='1540033' first='Carter' last='Wollan'], 6-3, Sr., Amery
