Any conversation about the best point guards in Indiana's Class of 2026 has to begin with this Mt. Vernon (Fortville) prospect. Ertel has had success for years while playing up an age group with Indiana Elite on the 3SSB Circuit and has already announced his commitment to Purdue.

It'll be interesting to watch Hammel take on a larger role at Kokomo High School this season as they graduate the Indiana Mr. Basketball winner plus another Indiana All-Star. The Top 20 prospect in the state is a dynamic playmaker with good positional size and length. Hammel also has the tools to be one of the better defenders at the position.

An Indiana Junior All-Star candidate going into the 2024-2025 season, Hayes averaged 19.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game for Gary 21st Century last year. The 6'1" guard is capable of playing on or off of the ball but is such a dynamic creator that we've labeled him as a point guard.

A big time playmaker out of Gary West Side High School, Hinton is a smaller guard but more than makes up for his size with explosiveness and toughness off of the bounce. He can get to the rim consistently and finishes in a variety of ways. Ranked as the #13 overall prospect in the Class of 2026. He is a Division I caliber point guard.

Another guard that we have listed as a point guard but can really play either spot in the backcourt, Minnett led Avon in scoring as a sophomore. Now the defending Sectional champions look to go even further in the postseason. Minnett is an excellent shooting threat that can create his own or make them off the catch.

A major stock-riser here in the Class of 2026, Walker parlayed a strong sophomore season at Noblesville High School into an outstanding summer and fall which took him all the way up to #14 in the class. He will take over the reigns fully this season for the Millers and should see his recruitment start to take off.
