The Border League brought in over 200 teams and 64 of the top 125 players in the country played in it over the weekend. There were a ton of entertaining games, and some guys proved that they deserve to be playing college. I spent most of my time watching the games that were taking place at Coronado High School and Desert Pines. These players are my top point guards that I watched play in The Border League tournament.

Yapi has been featured a couple times in my Border League: Nevada Stand Outs articles, and his recognition is well deserved. Despite being in some big time match-ups, he played with a calm demeanor and performed at a high level. He can be very deceiving when he is handling the ball, and makes brilliant passes on the regular. Yapi also had a great shooting weekend. I'd say he looks more than ready to lead Sierra Vista deep into the playoffs this year.

Nash Humpherys lead his team to a win over Mira Costa. I liked the way he played in half court sets, but he also pushed transition on a few occasions. When he drove to the rim, he was full speed and he made some nice lay-ups. He also connected on a couple of deep 3's. Humpherys will be taking his talents to Boise St. next year.

Jordan Charles plays at a fast but controlled pace. He seems to have a good feel for the game, and knows when to go on offense. I really liked how he keeps his eyes up when he attacks the basket. This skill allows him to find his teammates for open shots but he can also hit floaters or difficult lay-ups. At the moment he has offers from UCSB and Old Dominion.

Reece can flat out score. I was very impressed with how he went right at Utah Prep in the first half of their game. He is crafty with his ball handling and defenders don't have much room for error. His competitiveness was also evident. Reece has committed to LSU and it looks like they've got a good one.

Isaiah Johnson sliced through the defense throughout his game against Democracy Prep. He showed some first step explosiveness and also got to the line often. Johnson used his speed on defense to create turnovers and I like how he commanded his offense. Campbell Hall ending up getting the win against Democracy Prep, 87-79. Johnson has committed to Colorado.

Yeison Liberato may have hit one of the most clutch shots of the weekend when he drove up court with 4 seconds left, and banked in a 3 for the win against Sierra Vista. He really knows how to get his spots, and hit some big shots earlier in the game as well. I was also a fan of the way he played defense, he made the guy he was guarding uncomfortable.

Gilliand was one of the more athletic guards that I saw at The Border League. He had a decent amount of pressure thrown at him on offense, but he still was able to get to the basket for some lay-ups. GIlliand threw down a vicious dunk as well, putting his vertical on full display. ABC Prep didn't get the win in the game I watched, but I liked the way he competed.

Bivins impressed me with both his offense and defense. On defense, he has a knack for coming up with steals. On the offensive end, he can really fill it up and plays with a lot of confidence. He had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and 5 steals against Sierra Vista.

Mandaquit didn't seem phased by playing against some of the other top players in the nation. He played his game all weekend long and facilitated Utah Prep's offense with AJ Dybantsa. I can see why they might want to continue playing together. I also noticed that he plays some solid defense. Making him a very well rounded PG and a good fit for any college.

Cayden Boozer had a great weekend of basketball in Las Vegas. He is an incredibly talented ball handler, and also showed off his ability to drive to the rim. I'd also say that he looks mature beyond his years with how he leads his team. The Duke commit's future looks bright.

Josiah was also mentioned in my Border League: Nevada Stand Outs article from Day 3 and also rightfully belongs on this list. Stroughter is one of the best rim attackers in Las Vegas and gets to the basket almost whenever he wants. Although his team didn't get the win against Campbell Hall, I think it was one of the best games I've seen from him offensively. His shooting was on point, off the dribble.

Mikel Brown Jr. plays with a lot of poise and looks ready for the next level. The Florida senior can bury threes with guys in his face, and knows hot to get to his spots in an efficient manner. I was also impressed by his athleticism and ability to finish tough lay-ups.
