Mandaquit started off os one of the premier true PG’s in the country and he ends his career the same way. A player that everyone wants to play with because he finds open players and he can hold his own on defense and offense regardless who is defending him. He has sneaky athletic ability and with a shot that has just gotten better with time he has a chance to hit the ground running and see some time at U-Dub right off the bat.

Mandaquit is an electric PG that knows how to control the tempo and his vision is unmatched as he is likely the best true PG in the country. Really like his game and his comp is like a Payton Pritchard or Jason Kidd just not flashy. Mandaquit keeps it simple but he is just cerebral out there.

Mandaquit didn’t seem phased by playing against some of the other top players in the nation. He played his game all weekend long and facilitated Utah Prep’s offense with AJ Dybantsa. I can see why they might want to continue playing together. I also noticed that he plays some solid defense. Making him a very well rounded PG and a good fit for any college.

Mandaquit is a player that will change a program in many ways. First and foremost is he is a leader out on the floor. He kind of gives you some Jason Kidd vibes. He has elite vision and he can put the ball on the money for shooters. cutters and above the rim players.

Mandaquit is build to play college ball right now as he is strong and his handle and his ability to protect the ball is just next level. The other aspect of his game that might not be seen by the average eye is that he can read defenses and adjust on the fly. He is a true extension of a coach out there on the floor. He will be a big time get.

Best true PG in the country is now in Southern Utah as Utah Prep has moved their school down South. Mandaquit has narrowed his schools down and is taking visits here before the season starts. he has visited Cal and Louisville as of late. BYU is a front runner and that is set to be his last visit. Stay tuned, huge year coming up.

I spoke to JJ this afternoon and he is thrilled to be back on the squad as 1 of 2 PG’s that were selected to the national team. With only 4 new players on the roster JJ is a true PG that gets the ball to where it needs to be and he also plays with speed and elite court vision. JJ is one of the team favorites because he is the one that will be dishing the ball to these elite players. JJ has really elevated his game after last years run that took place in Mexico. This year JJ will bring some more polished deep ball shooting and he will also add some bounce to his attacks. Mandaquit has been offered by a lot of D1’s including the local future pro factory in BYU. It will be exciting to root on JJ and the roster as the native Hawaiian that hails from the big island will also represent Utah as he plays for Utah Prep.

Mandaquit has taken it easy this spring with so many games under his belt, especially after winning gold for USA, he looks to make another run at it as the lead distributor in a loaded class of players on the USA team. He has also been playing well for Compton Magic. He pick up offers here and there but this kid is as good as they come when it comes to lead PG’s.
