Jcobi may have been the most dangerous player during the 3v3 portion of camp. With all of the space on the floor, he was in full attack mode, and defenders had a hard time moving their feet with his quick change of direction on the ball. He was attacking the rim hard, and as a smaller guard he did a great job of finishing on the opposite side so it was difficult for taller defenders to get a good contest on him. Mathis plays with a ton of confidence, and it's easy to see how he averaged over 20 ppg as a freshman.

I wasn't familiar with Torrence coming into the day, but he impressed almost immediately in the game I watched. At 6'2 he has a long frame out on the perimeter, and was putting it to use on the defensive end. He was getting up in passing lanes, cutting off smaller guards on the ball, and rebounding at a high level for a guard. Offensively he can hit the open three, and was aggressive getting to the rim for high percentage looks.

Cayden was one of the smallest players at the event, but that didn't stop him from producing at a high level. He was using his quickness to get into the lane just about any time he wanted to, and showed great vision with some nice dump off or kick-out passes to open teammates. When the space was there though, Cayden didn't hesitate to finish on his own. He has a high arcing floater that he utilizes to finish over size, but is also explosive enough to burst to the rim and get a lay-up off before the help-side defender can react.

Reece Jordan can simply go and get a bucket. He was one of the most productive freshmen in the state last season, and it's easy to see why. He has an impressive skillset, but for the most part he keeps the game simple, and it allows him to score with efficiency. Reece has a quick first step, and when a gap is there to attack, he can fly to the basket to score. Has a nice hesitation move where he can lull a defender to sleep before exploding in the opposite direction. A nightmare to stop in transition with his combination of vision and finishing ability.

The future looks bright for Pius XI, as they had a handful of prospects playing at a high level at both the sophomore and freshman camps. Justin always seems to be flying around the floor at 100 mph, but despite that he's always under control and doesn't seem rushed. Defensively he utilizes his quickness to pressure opposing point guards on the ball and force errors. On the offensive end he's so dangerous coming off screens as he can get downhill and finish at the rim, find his big rolling to the hoop, or pull-up for a mid-range jumper/floater in the lane.

One of the big takeaways from the event was how much more explosive [player_tooltip player_id='2288469' first='Jalen' last='Brown'] looked. He's taken a big leap forward athletically since his freshman season, which could spell trouble for the rest of the state. He already set a school assist record last season, but put more of his scoring ability on display this past weekend, getting to the rim and finishing acrobatically, while also leaking out in transition for a couple of dunks. Capped off his first game with a windmill dunk and a 360 dunk within about 30 seconds of each other.

Prewitt plays well beyond his years. His change of speed is impressive to watch, and he can cover so much ground in a single dribble to either create his own jumper or explode to the basket. Gets a lot of elevation on his pull-up jumper which makes it difficult to contest when he gets just enough space to elevate. Someone who can dish out 6+ assists one night, and then go and score 20+ points the next game depending on what his team needs.
