Good players at large high schools often have to wait their turn to shine. Such is the case with Vosters, an extremely quick and confident lead guard who has emerged this spring as one of the better guards in the rugged Fox Valley Association. Vosters ability to put points on the scoreboard with his shooting skill is a huge plus, but so, too, is his activity on the other end of the floor. He utilizes his quickness and instincts to disrupt things on the perimeter, making things difficult for opponents. Look for Vosters to be a key player for the Papermakers of Kimberly next season as he is attracting recruiting interest from a number of schools, including Viterbo and Waldorf.
He was also vocal as a floor general. That leadership stood out. Vosters was not just looking to score; he created his own shot, attacked the basket fearlessly, and got teammates involved. His ability to balance scoring and distributing made him one of the more complete guards in this group.
He finished the weekend with 15 points, 7 assists, and 2 steals, showing his ability to impact the game as both a scorer and facilitator. Vosters was a tenacious on-ball defender and brought toughness to the guard spot.
I really like the way that Cayden goes out and competes every time I see him play. Defensively he’s tenacious pressuring the ball, and was on the verge of a few 5 second calls in the game I watched. He’s always going to be the first one on the floor for a loose ball anywhere in his area. Offensively he’s a true floor general who’s a vocal presence on the floor for his team. He gets them into their sets, handles it well under pressure, and delivers accurate passes when he has an open teammate.
Caught team’s first game of action on the weekend. A skilled facilitator that affects the game in multiple ways. Has strong sense of handles to impact as a passer. Will swing it fast on perimeter, look ahead for pitch aheads in transition, or make a post feed to the low block. Shooting wise he tallied for atleast a handful of 3’s with a couple mid range jays. A pure stroke whether on the catch or off the dribble. Defensively competes on ball and shows toughness. Liked his overall feel to lead and knack to contribute consistently.
Cayden may have been the most productive player on the floor in this game. He was running circles around defenders with the ball, able to get into the lane any time he wanted to, an either finishing with touch or dropping it off to one of his bigs. Doesn’t have any fear attacking against size at the rim. Deep range beyond the arc when he looks to pull up as well.
Cayden was one of the smallest players at the event, but that didn’t stop him from producing at a high level. He was using his quickness to get into the lane just about any time he wanted to, and showed great vision with some nice dump off or kick-out passes to open teammates. When the space was there though, Cayden didn’t hesitate to finish on his own. He has a high arcing floater that he utilizes to finish over size, but is also explosive enough to burst to the rim and get a lay-up off before the help-side defender can react.
