Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
Origin is one of the quickest guards you’ll find in Wisconsin. He just has that extra level of speed to blow by defenders off the dribble, and get into the lane just about any time he wants to. Against Powerhouse MN he was able to lull defenders asleep, and then explode to the basket for two points. Showed impressive vision as well, showing good timing on his passes in transition, and delivering some accurate kick-out passes to his shooters the half-court. Had a tough finish to put his team ahead with under 30 seconds to play, ultimately giving them the win.

Prewitt scored 11 points for All-Wisconsin in its win over Dfpt Elite NXTPRO. Moreover, the steady backcourt prospect handled the ball against pressure, guarded well on the perimeter and used his physicality and basketball smarts to control things for his team. Already a three-year varsity player for Madison La Follette, Prewitt is one of the better backcourt performers in the Big Eight Conference and is looking to have a big spring and summer for a deep and talented All-Wisconsin squad. He got off to an impressive start in that regard on Friday.

The backcourt at Madison La Follete is impressive, to say the least. In addition to the improved Prewitt, the Lancers boast additional guard standouts in Jordan and sophomore

. Prewitt, who has grown some since the end of last season, knocked down a couple of three-point jump shots, scored in transition and got to the basket and foul line against Kenosha Tremper. He finished with a workmanlike 14-point effort at La Follette even its mark at 1-1.

Prewitt plays well beyond his years. His change of speed is impressive to watch, and he can cover so much ground in a single dribble to either create his own jumper or explode to the basket. Gets a lot of elevation on his pull-up jumper which makes it difficult to contest when he gets just enough space to elevate. Someone who can dish out 6+ assists one night, and then go and score 20+ points the next game depending on what his team needs.

Prewitt is a shifty backcourt prospect who likes to attack the basket and pull up for mid range jump shots. His quickness and athleticism allow him to guard well on the perimeter, and he’s fast in transition as well. Prewitt played varsity basketball for Madison La Follette as a freshman and came off the bench for the Lancers to average 11.6 points per game.

The freshman guard showed no fear going up against older competition, and came out firing in game two. Even at his young age he played with impressive pace on the ball, lulling defenders to sleep before exploding by them with a quick crossover. Showed comfort driving in either direction as well as the touch to finish with either hand at the rim from different angles. Wasn’t forcing his game, but when he noticed a lane he was quick to attack and make the defense pay for giving him an angle to the basket.
