We released our updated Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings right at the end of June. That was a very busy period of time fresh off of the Charlie Hughes Showcase and heading into the July grassroots season. Due to the busy schedule at the time, we at Prep Hoops Indiana feel like our rankings content, generally some of our most popular, didn't get the attention that it deserves. Therefore, we will spend this quieter period in August to revisit our rankings content beginning here with the Class of 2027. First, we will simply re-releaseed the Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings themselves. Now we have turned our focus to other content including additional summer stock-risers, new names, under-the-radar Watch List prospects, and much more. Here are eight newer names that burst onto the scene in recent months or that we expect to standout heading into their sophomore seasons.

After getting his feet wet at the varsity level as a freshman, Bowman should be ready to step into the void left by some graduation at Greensburg High School. The versatile 6'3" forward can swing from the wing to a front court spot with solid athleticism and strength. He rebounds the ball from his position, attacks closeouts consistently in a straight line, and is a high percentage finisher around the rim. Under-the-radar prospect poised to make some noise as a sophomore this season.

A guy we wrote about quite a bit in the spring after he burst onto our radar at the Prep Hoops Circuit Chi-Town Tipoff, Dixon continued to have a great spring and summer for a very talented [program_tooltip program_id='2076210' first='5Star' last='Basketball'] 15u team. The 6'0" guard is one of the more skilled rising sophomore guards in the South Bend area with the ability to create separation for his own shot off of the dribble, change pace to get downhill, or space the floor off of the ball as a shooting threat. Dixon is a talented all-around scorer.

One of the top freshman scorers in the state last season, Lang averaged 15.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game at Trinity Lutheran. Furthermore, he shot an impressive 53-143 (37.1%) from three-point range. That shooting ability, which he displays both off of the dribble and from the catch, is what stands out most when watching this young prospect. He proved himself against a higher level of competition this spring and summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2076166' first='Grand' last='Park Premier'] 15u and should be poised for yet another big high school season this winter.

No stranger to varsity production, Miller averaged 4.2 points per game as a freshman at Tri-West High School while shooting 41.2% from three-point range. He had a strong showing with the Bruins at the Charlie Hughes Showcase which culminated in a 20-point performance on 4-6 shooting from three in a win over Frankton. Miller was another piece of the talented [program_tooltip program_id='2076166' first='Grand' last='Park Premier'] 15u backcourt as well. His skill level with the ball in his hands will help carry him into a breakout sophomore season.

Pieterek was a standout at a few of our Prep Hoops Circuit events throughout the spring and summer. His strong helped him burst onto our radar here at Prep Hoops Indiana as the 5'10" guard put up some big scoring numbers with Evansville Finest 15u. The skilled backcourt threat can shoot it from well beyond the arc, create his own looks in the mid-range, and gets downhill to the rim where he finishes with either hand. Look for him to make an impact at the varsity level this season for Evansville North High School.

Reed stepped in from day one at the varsity level for Floyd Central and averaged 9.6 points per game. The versatile 6'2" guard shoots it well from beyond the arc, but is at his best as a slasher and driver. His fluid athleticism with the ball allows him to make multiple moves to get into the paint and then his length lets him finish out around bigger defenders. He had a great summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2400093' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Tradition'] that culminated in an Adidas Gold championship out in South Carolina. Reed is one that could break into our Prep Hoops Indiana Rankings as we continue to expand the Class of 2027.

We've written a lot about this prospect recently due to how well he played for [program_tooltip program_id='2383637' first='Summit' last='City Elite'] - Black 15u at the GRBA National Championship in Fort Wayne on the final grassroots weekend of the summer. He had some big scoring outputs over the course of that weekend which included a 25-point performance on Friday night with Prep Hoops Indiana watching. Schlabach should have a big sophomore season for Westview High School this coming season.

A high-level Class of 2027 prospect in the state of Colorado, Whitehead is headed back to Indiana to play his sophomore season at Silver Creek High school. We say back because the 6'6" forward came up in the Silver Creek middle school system. Whitehead's size and athleticism standout first and foremost, but he also has the skill level on the perimeter and in the front court to create consistent mismatches against opposing defenses. His return to an already young and very talented Dragons roster will make them that much more dangerous this season and into the future.
