This 2027 class is DEEP with talent. It's so very early in their careers and there are already 8 players in the class who hold D1 offers. With them only entering their Sophomore seasons, there is a lot of volatility in the rankings and we have had some players move way up the list in this update. Here's a breakdown of the top point guards in the latest update. This does not include and players who are in the top ten of the class.

Fairdale got an impact transfer when [player_tooltip player_id='2438889' first='Kamari' last='Roberts'] enrolled there this month. Roberts is quick and skilled with good size at the point guard spot. He's a willing passer who can also sit down and guard his position. Long term, Kamari projects to be a D1 prospect.

Russell's [player_tooltip player_id='1745587' first='Elijah' last='Neel'] was one of the biggest stock boosters in the summer and is on the verge of cracking the top 20 in the class. Already established as one of the best players in his region, Elijah is starting to make a name for himself state-wide. Definitely a scholarship level prospect, if Neel grows a couple of inches, we'll be talking about another D1 player in this 27 class.

Saint Xavier point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2122466' first='Brandon' last='Dayes'] may be the best pure athlete in the entire 2027 class. He's only a Sophomore and has already seen action in professional soccer games. Additionally, Brandon is a heck of a point guard who is more likely to beat his man off the dribble and dish to an open teammate than he is to take a shot himself. If he decides to play basketball in college, he should have options.

[player_tooltip player_id='2326411' first='Amontae' last='Lowe'] is an interesting name to track in the class as he hasn't been seen a ton yet by most Kentuckians but has tweeted out multiple D1 offers at this early stage. Amontae is likely to benefit the most of anyone at Newport by Tay Kinney's departure to OTE. Lowe should slide into the starting point guard spot and look to keep the Wildcats rolling.

Boyle County's [player_tooltip player_id='1745591' first='Guy' last='Turner'] possesses good floor vision as a passer and is a good shooter who can keep defenses honest. He may ultimately end up playing quarterback in college but is a solid point guard prospect as well. In order to maximize his prospect ceiling, Guy will need to show he can guard top tier athletes as well as get past those same level of athletes when pressured.
