A fantastic passer who thrives in the open court, Lowe has been off to a great start for Moss Elite . Amontae is a pass first player who makes everyone around him better. He could certainly attract some coaches this weekend.

In his first tournament, Amontae averaged 20 points and five assists, highlighted by an impressive 27-point performance that included five made three-pointers, earning him 17U Indy Showcase Second Team honors. He’s displayed craftiness and scoring ability at all three levels, knocking down perimeter shots with confidence while also using his shiftiness to find lanes to the basket. His ball-handling has been a major asset, allowing him to create space, control the tempo, and make a strong overall impact on the game.

Amontae Lowe Amontae Lowe 5'11" | PG Newport | 2027 State KY shows very solid ball-handling skills and consistently drives to the rim, particularly on the right side, where he can maneuver around defenders with ease. He knocks down shots from both three-point range and midrange, demonstrating a well-rounded offensive game, and he reads the floor intelligently, making the right decisions when the ball is in his hands. He handles defensive pressure with poise, using his body and footwork to create space and finish at the rim. Comfortable scoring off the dribble, he also understands spacing, and looks to set up teammates when the opportunity arises, making him a true playmaker.

Lowe carried his team to the next round with an acrobatic buzzer beating layup for Newport. In a tight contest the whole way, Lowe scored the last four points of the game for Newport, two from the free throw line and two on the game-winner. I saw Newport a couple of weeks ago and Lowe didn’t play and his presence immediately made a difference in this one. A quick guard at the point of attack, Lowe found success attacking and finishing on the left side of the rim with his right hand. I also liked that Lowe usually finished off two feet, keeping himself on balance when attacking the rim.

Amontae, like Harris, is left with a much bigger role after Newport lost multiple players over the summer. Lowe has become the starting point guard and go to scorer for the Wildcats and it is paying dividends. Amontae is averaging over 21 points per game with shooting splits of 47/38/74 this season and is doing his best to keep Newport relevant in the race for the 9th region title.

Lowe is the last man standing at Newport after the mass exodus that occurred over the last two summers. Amontae should have the ball in his hands at all times for the WIldcats and will need to produce at a high level for them to remain relevant in the regional title discussion.

Amontae Lowe Amontae Lowe 5'11" | PG Newport | 2027 State KY continues to impress and seems to elevate his game every time he steps on the floor. He’s an athletic, dynamic scorer with a natural feel for getting buckets in a variety of ways, whether it’s with his jumper, his ability to twist and finish at the rim, or his activity on both ends. Beyond his scoring, Lowe impacts the game defensively and brings consistent energy. He’s expected to be the go-to option for the Wildcats this season and has the potential to be one of the top five players in Northern Kentucky.
