This event featured several high-level teams from across Indiana, including a few from Illinois, Kentucky, and Ohio. It was an outstanding day of basketball held in one of the best practice facilities in the country. Let’s dive in and take a closer look at what we saw over the course of the day at Notre Dame.
Defending State Champs Came to Play
There was plenty of young talent to go around for the Fishers Tigers last season on their way to a 29-1 record and Class 4A State Championship. However, anytime you lose a core guy like Indiana All-Star Keenan Garner who is now at IU-Indianapolis, you never know how the pieces will mesh. Coach Winegar’s team has certainly proven so far this summer that they do not plan on missing a beat. They ran through the competition at Notre Dame on Thursday which included an eye-opening blowout against St. Xavier out of Louisville. At one point in that game the score was 34-2.
Fishers’ success began on the defensive end of the floor with their guards causing absolute havoc. Rising senior

and you get what will most likely be the best defensive backcourt, if not best overall, in the state of Indiana this coming season. Kirby is the best shot-blocking guard in the state who consistently has chase down style blocks in the open floor like you see in the NBA.
It would be premature and unfair to begin talks of a repeat in mid-June. However, Fishers has absolutely proved themselves as a team who may very well begin the season ranked #1 in the polls once again.
High End Talent Shines in Front of Notre Dame Staff
It is no secret that recruiting plays a big part in events like this one. Teams that have prospects that Notre Dame is recruiting find their way to South Bend in order to provide an intimate viewing experience for the staff. There were several such players in the gym on Thursday and they certainly showcased why they are being recruited at the high-major level.

(Greenfield-Central H.S. 2025) was arguably the most impressive player in the gym. The 6’5″ guard has continued to blow up this spring and summer jumping into the Top 40 of the On3 Prospect Rankings while earning offers from the likes of Kansas, North Carolina, and UConn. His high-level shot-making is really fun to watch and when you pair it with positional size and excellent athleticism you can really see why he is so highly sought after across the best programs in college basketball.
Another four-star prospect,
Trent Sisley

(Heritage Hills H.S. 2025), played very well at Notre Dame on Thursday. The versatile 6’8″ forward scored 36 points in a game against Plainfield and was very good in their other contests as well. His outside shot continues to look a bit smoother and more compact, but he still is at his best operating as a driver in the open floor or playing out of the mid-post with his back to the basket. Sisley handles the ball extremely well for his size and is very comfortable getting a rebound and going coast-to-coast. In the half court, his little fadeaway jump shot out of the post in the 10-15 foot range is consistently on the mark. Meanwhile, three-star prospect
Dezmon Briscoe

(Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025) had a strong showing when matched up head-to-head with Sisley early in the day on Thursday. The 6’9″ forward is always highly productive and never shies from contact. He can play right through you around the basket where he consistently finishes at a high percentage and seems to get every rebound that he gets his hands on. July will be a big month for Briscoe before ultimately making a decision between a lot of quality suitors.

(Lawrence North H.S. 2025) and the Wildcats were very impressive at Notre Dame. Robinson played more under control with the ball in his hands showcasing some pace in ballscreen situations that was good to see. His explosiveness in the open floor and when getting downhill is second to none, but being able to play with more pace in the half court will really take his game to a new level. The 6’1″ guard scored it consistently at the end of his drives and did an excellent job of getting all of his talented teammates involved as a passer. Finally,
Steven Reynolds III

(South Bend Washington H.S. 2026) played very well before having to cut his day short with a migraine. He was excellent in the very first game of the day against St. Xavier from Louisville displaying his shot-making ability from beyond the arc. He made some really tough shots off of the dribble and always shows off his advanced processing of the game as a passer. There is absolutely no denying Reynolds III is the top prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2026.
Quick-Hitters
-
Michael Johnson
Michael Johnson 5'11" | PG Southport | 2025 State IN (Greenfield-Central H.S. 2025) is a big addition for the Cougars. The long, lanky, 6’3″ guard transferred into Greenfield-Central after leading Southport in scoring as a junior. His playmaking ability will help to take some pressure off of Mullins.
-
Dakori Parker
Dakori Parker 5'10" | PG South Bend Washington | 2027 IN (South Bend Washington H.S. 2027) continues to impress. The 5’9″ guard is a truly dynamic playmaker that has no issue scoring it from any spot on the floor against bigger defenders. His quickness with the ball and explosive change of speed and direction is really fun to watch.
-
Chris Hurt
Chris Hurt 5'11" | PG Crispus Attucks | 2025 State IN (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025) and Melakih Cunningham
Melakih Cunningham 6'6" | SF Crispus Attucks | 2025 State IN (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025) each had good days for the Tigers. Hurt is a veteran point guard with a lot of experience under his belt running the show at Attucks. He is in complete control when the ball is in his hands. As for Cunningham, the long, athletic wing continues to impress this spring. He knocked down some smooth looking jump shots on Thursday. The 6’6″ wing recently earned an offer from Toledo.

- He suffered a mouth injury and had to leave the game against Attucks, but Harper Baker-Lands Harper Baker-Lands 6'2" | SG Plainfield | 2027 State IN (Plainfield H.S. 2027) was impressive for the Quakers. Love his size and strength for his age as a guard. He also is one of the best defenders in the class. Baker-Lands projects very well as a two-way point guard.
