JT had an impactful game running with Wisconsin Crusaders . He was poised and always under control with the ball, making smart reads to set his teammates up with quality attempts. In transition JT was able to weave in-and-out of defenders, and always had great timing to dump it off to a sprinting teammate, while knowing when to keep it himself to finish. Really good coming off screens as he can get downhill and play under control off of two feet in the paint. Defensively he was constantly in the right spots off the ball to make plays and force turnovers. Helped lead his team to a big win.
Will may have been the quickest player I saw on Friday night. Despite being the smallest guy on the floor, he was fearless attacking the basket against Wisconsin Crusaders . He had some impressive spin moves to create angles to finish, and was a blur getting up and down the floor for transition buckets. If he saw a small gap to the basket, he was going to hit the hole like a running back and find a way to get to the rim. Sees the floor well and has the accuracy to fit the ball through tight openings to his teammates.

Drew got his weekend started off in impressive fashion on Friday. Early in the game he cut backdoor for an alley-oop dunk, and within the next few minutes he added another dunk and some composed transition finishes to his scoring total. Drew was living at the rim, using his strong 6’3-6’4 frame to maneuver his way to the basket, while also working hard to sprint ahead in transition for easy buckets. Worked hard defensively to force a couple of turnovers which led to more scoring opportunities for himself. Put up big numbers with impressive efficiency in the night one win for LVL Basketball.

Maverick was working hard in the paint for Northstar Titans . They started off the game playing 4v5 as a few players couldn’t make it in time, and Maverick did a great job of getting his offense second chances with his presence on the glass. Even if he couldn’t secure a rebound, he was utilizing his 6’7 frame to tip the ball out to the perimeter where his guards had a chance to secure possession. The bulk of his production came on the glass, but in a few paint touches he showed some emerging footwork combined with soft touch to finish off the glass.
Highlights
Valin got off to a slow start, but throughout the game he showed his ability to put up big scoring numbers at 6’6. He closed out the first half strong knocking down three 3’s, including a tough step-back with a hand in his face, and added in a pair of strong finishes at the rim. Keeps opposing forwards guessing because you never know when he’s going to pull-up for three or try to beat you baseline to the rim. Has to get stronger with the ball though as he had a few turnovers with smaller players reaching in and stripping the ball free.
Brayden came out looking to set the tone early with his defense for LVL Basketball. The scrappy point guard was picking up full-court from the very first possession, and working hard to turn the opposing point guard and make it difficult for him to initiate his team’s offense. Even if he wasn’t the one poking the ball free, his constant pressure on the ball helped force some errors that allowed his team to pick up stops consistently. Offensively he’s a pass first player who was always looking to find an open man, and did a nice job of passing the ball ahead in transition.
Henry played a key role in the win for Northstar Titans on Friday night. He’s a versatile scorer on the offensive end as he offers some outside shooting, but his fluid athleticism at 6’4 also makes him a threat to get to the basket. As most Maple Grove players do, Henry moves well without the ball and is always looking to create chances with hard cuts to the basket. Even when playing 4v5 early in the game, Henry was under control and wasn’t making errors despite the constant pressure the opposing defense was able to apply with an extra man.
