Ryker is scoring just over 10 points per game this season for Lakeville South, but is someone capable of putting up 20 point games when his team needs him. Taking on a red hot Chaska team in the quarterfinals, not only will that scoring punch be needed, but also his size at 6'5. Chaska puts out a lot of length all over the floor, including forwards that can step out and make plays on the perimeter. Ryker will have a big responsibility to not only prevent them from getting open looks from three, but also keeping them off the glass to limit Chaska to one-shot possessions.

Chase is one of those shooters with length we mentioned on Chaska. At 6'7, the sophomore forward is shooting 42% from deep this season! Chaska's run to state included a hard fought win over Eden Prairie in the section semi-finals, and it was Chase who helped his team pull ahead as he knocked down 4 of his 6 looks from beyond the arc. The 9.5 ppg scorer has shown consistent improvements as the season has progressed, and Chase has had double figure scoring performances in six of Chaska's last eight games.

Facing a tough opening round matchup in Tartan, Mills' length and athleticism as a guard could be key defensively. Tartan has some skilled shot creators out on the perimeter, and DaRoyce has the combination of length and lateral mobility that is neccessary to slow them down. Whether its off the bench or in the starting five, DaRoyce is someone who comes in and can provide a spark for Blaine.

Quan may just be the most explosive guard in Minnesota. The 6'1 senior can absolutely fly to the rim in the open floor, and that athleticism also translates to the defensive end where he's an absolute pest on the ball. He's often the first or second player off the bench for #1 Tartan, and can be relied upon to play with energy and intensity on the defensive end. Quan typically doesn't need to score much, but is capable of hitting the three when left open, and can provide momentum shifting dunks when he gets out in the open floor. Tartan starts off their run at a title with a game against Blaine.

With all of the talent around him Gavin doesn't necessarily need to score to be effective, but is someone we've seen come out of nowhere to push Maple Grove to wins against talented teams. We saw it early in the season when Gavin's five threes helped lead MG to a win over DeLaSalle. And we saw it again when Gavin hit seven outside shots in a revenge win over Buffalo. Gavin provides valuable energy and defense off the bench, and when his number is called he's someone who's not afraid to take and make shots in big games.

Alexandria face a tall task (literally) in a matchup with Maple Grove in the quarterfinals. They'll be tasked with slowing down 7'1 center [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] among others. Grady is one of the players who could spend a lot of time either contesting Jack around the rim, or trying to put a body on him to keep him off the glass. Grady may be half a foot shorter, but has some strength and grit that will help him compete in the paint. A strong performance from Grady could help lead Alexandria into the semi-finals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2433532' first='Max' last='Beeninga'] has been arguably the best sixth man in the state this season. We saw what he could do off the bench in two recent games against Hopkins, putting up 13 and 14 points in those games. When Max catches on the perimeter, your closeout has to be just about perfect. He has the range to knock down deep threes, but close out too hard and he has the quick first step to blow by you and get to the rim. Yes Wazata has a high-major duo capable of putting up 40-50 points on a consistent basis, but Max is someone capable of stepping up when Wayzata needs him.

Tylan is one of those players who can impact a game without taking a single shot. He's the main creator for Apple Valley, and against Wayzata they're going to need all of the good looks they can get. Tylan is a lightning quick guard who can beat his initial defender and force the defense to collapse on him in the paint. He's had some huge games recently with 12 assists against Eagan and 13 against Hastings. He can also come up with steals in bunches as he excels at jumping crosscourt passes and getting out in transition for easy lay-ups.
