ANAHEIM — The Compton Magic club program held it's annual Magic Memorial event at Open Gym Premier in Anaheim. The tournament-style event featured some of the west's top programs and players. Below we take a look at some of the top scorers we saw.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956520' first='Brayden' last='Kyman'] | 2026 | Players Play

Kyman continues his evolution into a three-level scoring prospect. The 6-foot-8 rising junior initially made his mark as a knock down three-point shooter off the catch but has continued to develop as a player who can score with his back to the basket or in face-up situations on drives and mid-range shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2281701' first='Bruce' last='Branch'] | 2027 | Compton Magic 16u

Branch has all the makings of a high-level scoring guard/wing. At 6-feet-6 with a long, wiry frame, the rising sophomore is a smooth pull-up shooter off the bounce who can also space the floor with his consistent catch-and-shoot three-ball. Branch's fluidity and length in transition allows him to cover ground quickly and finish at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435386' first='Hunter' last='Caplan'] | 2027 | Dream Vision 15u

Caplan flashed his elite perimeter scoring feel on the weekend. The 6-foot-2 combo guard has deep and consistent range on his three-point shot — both off the catch and off the bounce — and uses hesitations or ball screens to get into his mid-range jumper. Caplan is a confident scoring guard who possesses a short memory and next-shot mentality.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436255' first='Jayden' last='Yim'] | 2027| Compton Magic 15u

Yim played junior varsity at Corona Centennial last season but, by the looks of his development, he'll be a varsity contributor next season. The 5-foot-10 combo guard balances scoring and playmaking very well but this weekend he was locked in on filling up the scoring column. Yim is is quick with the ball in his hands and uses changes of speed to beat defenders off the dribble and get into the lane where he can finish with crafty layups or floaters. The rising sophomore is also a capable shooter off the catch from three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435359' first='Jeremiah' last='Profit'] | 2027 | Gamepoint 17u

Profit is one of the nation's top 2027 prospects and a big reason for that is his ability to score in a variety of ways. The 6-foot-4 wing is playing up on the 17u level despite his rising sophomore status and his ability to put points on the board has not been impacted at all. Profit is trending toward being an elite perimeter shooter who can also slash and finish at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2746607' first='Josh' last='Lowery'] | 2028 | Compton Magic 15u

Lowery has scoring feel well beyond his years. The wiry 6-foot-3 off-guard has a smooth shooting stroke off the catch but is also a coordinated, fluid and rangy athlete who can attack closeouts and finish at the rim. Lowery thrived in transition where his physical tools and aggressiveness led to easy downhill buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='2137372' first='Josiah' last='Johnson'] | 2026 | Los Angeles Elite 17u

We've mentioned Johnson in write ups a handful of times this spring and he was impressive yet again over the weekend at Magic Memorial. The 6-foot-3 combo guard is young for his class at just 15 years old and is just scratching the surface of his potential. Johnson is best when using his speed to get to his mid-range pull-up which consists of impressive vertical lift off the floor. He's also an effective transition slasher who attacks the rim assertively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2436275' first='Maxwell' last='Scott'] | 2027 | Open Gym Premier 16u

Scott is beginning to make noise outside of what those in the Orange County area already knew. The 6-foot-1 shooting guard is seemingly automatic from three-point range when given time and space and his consistency isn't just as a spot shooter as he possess great balance when shooting on the move or off the bounce. Scott can also score inside the arc with a smooth pull-up jumper and ability to find space with cuts for layups.
