About Brayden
Expert Analysis
Anthony Fortuna | Prep Hoops Scout
Brayden Kyman is the type of shooter that is constantly hunting a good clean look. He is also efficient with his dribbles and can use his footwork if needed to shake defenders. His catch and shoot ability is also fun to watch and he drained four 3-pointers against Bishop Gorman. The Washington State commit finished with 19 points total, and he collected 7 rebounds.

Kyman is a skilled bigman that can spray shots beyond the arc, make plays for teammates, and is an underrated rim protector. The 6-foot-8 point-forward crashes the boards, has the handles to push the ball up the court, the vision to make pin-point passes up the court to players ahead of the defense, as well as in the half-court setting from the top of the key to players cutting off the ball, and makes good reads off the drive and kick pass. Kyman is a great shooter from the perimeter with accuracy on the 3-ball off the catch or the bounce, uses the crossover, the spin-move, and the in-and-out dribble to get by his defender, makes good decisions in the on-ball screen action, with the ability to spread the floor with the shot off the pop, as well as the timing and touch to score off the roll, and has a smooth pull-up jumper from the elbows. Kyman has the length and timing to block/alter shots in the paint, and can step out and alter shots on the perimeter. The Washington State commit finished with a game-high 22 points, connecting on 4 threes, and added 3 assists to show why he is such a tough assignment for opposing defenses.

An early commit to Washington State, Kyman ended his recruitment early after finding a good fit early. A skilled stretch forward who can shoot it and operate on the perimeter as a screen setter and passer, Kyman is an intriguing offensive talent. Standing out for Players Play on the Puma circuit this spring, Kyman is one of the more skilled players for his size on the west coast. Kyman was also named to the second team junior all state team in California last season.
