A perimeter guard with deep range. He’s comfortable on catch-and-shoot threes and keeps the ball moving within the offense, and he’s quick to push the pace and ignite the break off turnovers. Defensively, he brings tight on-ball pressure and active hands, which fits right into Centennial- Corona. His shooting and tempo make him a valuable piece in a fast system.

Yim continued to be the not-so-secret weapon for Corona Centennial as his ability to connect on off-catch threes kept driving lanes open for his athletic, slashing teammates to have space to get to the rim. The 5-foot-10 guard allowed the game to come to him and Centennial made defenders pay for helping too far off of Yim by hitting him with well-timed kick-outs which led to him getting clean looks from three. Another impressive part of Yim’s offensive package is his shot selection and ability to not take bad shots.

A tight handle allowed him to organize the offense and create his own looks from three off the dribble. He stayed involved away from the ball, relocating into open space for clean catches and getting his shot off. Timely makes added to his scoring impact, while his communication helped keep teammates organized.

Jayden Yim Jayden Yim 5'10" | CG Centennial-Corona | 2027 State CA-S started the Saturday off on fire, going five of six from deep range in his first game of the day. He moves quickly and swiftly without the ball, but he displayed that he can also be a point guard under pressure or help break a full court press if needed. Jayden is capable of going on a huge run from range if left open and he caught the defense lacking multiple times in this game. Yim utilizes quick hands and speedy lateral quickness on the perimeter guarding opposing ballhandlers and often notches several steals for the Compton Magic.

Yim’s ability to tailor his game to the needs of his team has always been one of his most impressive traits. The 5-foot-10 combo guard was best in catch-and-shoot situations over the weekend but he also evolved into a primary ball-handler, off-ball playmaker and transition scoring and passing threat when the game called for it. Yim can go from complimentary piece to go-to guy between possessions.

Jayden Yim poured in 4 triples for the Huskies in their loss to the Coronado Cougars. His ability to stretch the floor also helped create driving lanes for teammate Isaiah Rodgers. In addition to his strong and smart offensive play, he was hustling on defense and had 1 steal. Overall, I liked his quick release, and he didn’t seem to miss much.
