Prep Hoops ranking: 20th
Next highest ranking: 26th (ESPN)
A player who I think is about to blow up this summer, Millogo’s rise has already started as ESPN, the last service to update, also pushed him into the top 30. Going from coast to coast, Millogo left the New England area and now plays in southern California and will play for Compton Magic this summer. A recent offer from BYU shows that the Cougars are looking to add the size of Millogo to their frontcourt. One of the more intriguing prospects nationally in his class, Millogo can do things that players his size hardly ever do offensively.

It’s impossible to keep your eyes off of Millogo as soon as he enters the gym. He’s a true 7-foot-3 and has long arms to match it — he can practically dunk without jumping from the floor. He uses his length and size to block shots at the rim on defense and catch lobs, get rebounds and dunk everything on the offensive end. The rising junior even stepped out and hit some shots, and he has the ability to handle it a little bit. Alabama and Georgia have already offered him after he came onto the scene this weekend, and many more high majors will follow suit. He’s in an excellent place (CATS Academy) to develop his big man skills and play with/against tons of talented big men.

A 7’3″ center from CATS Academy, Millogo was the breakout performer of the weekend – putting New England on notice and walking away from the event with a ton of high major interest. You’d be hard pressed to find a prospect anywhere in the country with a more impressive combination of size, length, mobility, and skill. He’s incredibly long and knows how to use his length when defending on the perimeter or blocking shots around the rim. He’s lean, but his height is an advantage and he doesn’t play soft – showing a willingness to mix it up on the glass and in the paint. He can handle in transition, finishes plays with authority at the rim, and even knocked down a couple of threes out of the trailer spot. His performances led to a Top 50 ranking in his class and, if he continues with his upward trajectory, that will be just the tip of the iceberg for him.

Cherif’s sophomore season is set to be transitional in his player development. His ability to move across the lane into a challenging position allows him to effectively challenge shots, leveraging his verticality to disrupt offensive plays. He focuses on the ball’s trajectory after leaving the shooter’s hand, using his length to meet around its highest point. The athleticism and effort often create a block and rebound combo.

The 6’11 but has a spider-like feel to him on the court. He’s an incredibly lengthy passing protector with a ton of defensive potential. He can glide across the lane in one step, challenge shots with verticality, and run the floor. As he matures and becomes more coordinated, he’ll turn into a lethal shot blocker with the size to finish plays over defenders.
