Sabir is one of the top point producing prospects in NorCal. Standing 6’5 he can play positions 1-3. He has the ball in his hands often ready to go on the attack. He has court vision, a willing passer. His percentage for making 3-point shots has gone up in Fall Ball. A quality ball handler has the strength and length to challenge blockers, take on contact, and finish often around the rim. He’s underrated as a passer, defender and rebounder. He has length and movement, tougher than he looks.

Sabir is a multi-positional perimeter guy whose combination of size, length and athleticism on the wing allows him to defend multiple positions at the high school level. The 6-foot-5 senior was a ball-hawking defender who used his physical and athletic tools to disrupt the timing of ball handlers and collect multiple tips and deflections. Offensively, Sabir attacked the rim with confidence in transition and flashed clean three-point shooting mechanics.

The 6-foot-5 guard has the ball skills to control the flow of the offense, moves to break down his defender, is lethal when he catches fire from beyond the arc, and is a versatile and underrated perimeter defender. Sabir would have a strong showing in his team’s opening game of the Shootout, going for 12 points and 2 steals taking down Clovis North. Sabir followed that outing with a game-high 16 points, connecting on a pair of threes, to help lead his squad to an overtime win over Clovis West. Sabir, has impressive handles, keeps the dribble alive to see what the defense is showing, the moves to create space from his defender, using the crossover, hesitation, wrap-behind, push-cross, fadeaway, step-back, and between-cross to get his opponent off balance, gets great lift with his size to shoot over most perimeter defenders, with accuracy from the middy to the 3-ball off the bounce, and is a crafty scorer at the basket to evade shot blockers, using the euro-step, up-and-under, and reverse lay-ups to get his shots off. Sabir moves fluidly off the ball, gets to his shot spots, can score in volume with the 3-ball off the catch, can guard the 1 through 4 positions, with active hands and timing to deflect passes, jump passing lanes, and alter shots on the wing with length on the close out. 

Sabir impressed with his dynamic shooting, slashing and driving abilities in transition and half-court offense. The wiry-strong 6-foot-5 guard flashed his deep range consistency off the catch and off the bounce, attacked the rim on straight-line drives and scored through contact around the rim. Sabir has a good chance to sneak into low major Division 1 recruitment conversations.

Sabir poured in 30 points and looked every bit like a Division I shot maker. He has a very quick release and can create his own shot with ease.

He showed unlimited range, knocked down shots off the dribble, and mixed it up by attacking the basket. Ten of his points came in the fourth quarter when the game tightened up. Sabir is a big and with innate scoring ability 

He’s a rising shooting guard in NorCal listed at 6’5. He handles to create his shot opportunities, might use more than a couple dribbles to weaves around for short jumpers, or go hard the basket, in traffic handling contact. He’s had a breakout season taking and making 3-pointers at a good percentage. He leads his team in scoring at 24pts, had 30pts in a semifinal win. He’ll play for a San Joaquin Section DI Championship at Golden 1 Arena.

Baron Sabir Baron Sabir 6'5" | CG/SG Sheldon | 2027 State CA-N is an electrifying guard. He’s extremely quick with the ball in his hands and has that rare ability to make sharp moves while going full speed. His quick-twitch athleticism allows him to stop and go in a flash which is beneficial for him on both offense and defense.

He shoots it with good rotation and has a smooth side-step jumper. The side-step, step-back move helps him create lots of separation to get his shot off. Sabir is clearly on the right trajectory and should start garnering more attention from college programs soon.

With Baron, Tey Carter Tey Carter 6'1" | PG Sheldon | 2026 State CA-N and Ryder Daniels Ryder Daniels 6'1" | CG Sheldon | 2028 State CA-N sharing the backcourt load, Sheldon High is going to be a problem in the Delta League this season.

He’s made his mark this Spring with JGE 16’s on the 3SSB Circuit. Standing 6’3 he’s a regular contributor against quality competition. He’s an excellent defender, with length, foot speed and determination to extend and guard multiple positions. He’s a rebounding guard. He has the tools to put points on the board.

Sabir put himself squarely on the map with his play at this event. Standing 6’3 he’s long, strong with good movement on the court. He’s a multi skilled prospect who’ll continue to improve his skill set. He’s a tough minded prospect who gives good effort defending. A big guard with the ability to run the offense when called to do so. He has a burst to get by defenders to pass or score. He hit a couple of big 3’s off the dribble in the crunch.
