Fresno, CA - This past weekend, Friday, May 29th through Sunday, May 31st, I attended the annual Clovis North Nike Summer Showdown, one of the top events to kick off the Summer high school portion of the calendar year. This event hosted some of the top teams from the Fresno/Clovis area, as well as squads from NorCal, that is formatted with Pool Play for the first two days, and bracket play on Sunday. This article takes a look at 7 standout rising senior (class of 2027) prospects, which is Part 2 of the 2 two series part looking at standout 2027s. This will be followed by a look at the top 2028 and 2029 standouts from the event. In this article you will find the following information: players name, height, position, school, and their skill sets. The players are listed in alphabetical order, not ranked order, and we begin with Jacob Lee.

Jacob Lee (6'5 | PF) - Central East (Fresno CA)

The 6-foot-5 power forward is active on the boards on both ends of the court, has good touch on shots around the basket, and runs the floor well in the open court. Lee has a physical build that allows him to back down his defender, is able to score through contact around the basket and draw fouls, and has enough handle to put the ball on the deck to attack from the top of the key. Lee gets off the floor quickly, which allows for putbacks off the glass, outlets the ball to his primary ball handlers to get up the court, alters shots around the cup, and does a good job of sealing off his defender on the pick and roll action to make himself available.

[player_tooltip player_id='3652858' first='Kharon' last='Parks'] (6'3 | CG) - Sanger West (Fresno CA)

The 6-foot-3 lead guard plays with great pace and control with the ball in his hands, is able to create and make shots from 3-levels, and is a versatile defender that can defend in the paint, as well as on the perimeter. Parks has a strong handle on the ball, the moves to create space from his defender to set up his attack, uses the crossover, wrap-behind, the hesitation, and between-cross to get his defender off balance, has the court vision to make quality reads with the ball off the drive and kick pass, from the top of the key to cutting teammates, to his bigs out of the pick and roll action, or up the court off the rebound, as he is a great positional rebounder. Parks has a smooth jumper with accuracy off the dribble from the mid-range to the 3-point line, has the moves to score with creativity around the basket with the Euro-step or reverse lay-ups, as well as the strength to bully his way to the basket and score through contact. Parks has active hands on defense, the instincts to deflect passes, jump passing lanes, or poke the ball out to get out in the open court and create transition offense.

Enzo Rochin (6'1 | CG) - Clovis East (CA)

The 6-foot-1 combo guard impacts the game playing on or off the ball, is a pesky perimeter defender, and is a capable 3-level scorer that can open the court with the deep ball. Rochin keeps the ball on a string to survey the floor, has the moves to create space from his defender, using the crossover, spin-move, hesitation, and behind-cross to get by his primary defender, gets to his shot spots at the mid-range area of the court with great body control and accuracy when in the air on the jumper, and is a crafty scorer at the basket, with use of the reverse and up-and-under lay-ups, as well as the floater with touch. Rochin moves fluidly off the ball, gets to the open spots on the floor, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the catch, putting up points in volume when catching fire from beyond the arc. Rochin has great timing and instincts on defense to deflect passes, jump passing lanes, or dig the ball out from his opponent to get out in transition and score in the open court.

Jordan Ruffin (6'6 | WF) - Sanger West (Fresno CA)

The 6-foot-6 wing/forward is a force in the paint, runs the floor well in the open court, and impacts the defensive end in various ways. Ruffin crashes the boards on both ends, has good touch on put-backs off the glass, has the length and timing to alter shots in the paint, and the timing and active hands needs to jump passing lanes or deflect entry passes, which allow him to push the ball up the court or find the outlet and get up the court for easy finishes in transition. Ruffin has enough handle to attack from the top of the key, has the strength to attack and score at the basket through contact, seals his defender off in the pick and roll action with good timing and touch on finishes off the dive, and is effective with the face-up mid-range jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='2613096' first='Baron' last='Sabir'] (6'5 | CG) - Sheldon (Sacramento CA)

The 6-foot-5 lead guard was one of the better known prospects at the Nike Summer Showdown and is coming into the June month of high school ball after playing with one of the top club teams in the nation in Compton Magic of the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. Sabir has dynamic handles, keeps the dribble alive to find holes in the defense, has the moves to create off the bounce, using the crossover, hesitation, wrap-behind, and spin-move to evade his defender, has a great burst of speed off the dribble, is a crafty scorer at the basket with the Euro-step, reverse or up-and-under lay-ups, and the floater with touch to score over height, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the dribble, with the step-back in his bag to create more space on close-outs. Sabir moves fluidly off the ball to get to his shots spots, gets great lift on the jumper, and is effective with the 3-pointer off the catch with range on the deep ball. Sabir has great body control when in the air or on the attack and makes quality basketball plays with the rock in his hands.

Miles Tucker (5'10 | SG) - Clovis North (Fresno CA)

THe 5-foot-10 shooting guard has emerged as one of the top 3-point shooters in the Section, with the expansion of his overall skill set on display at the Nike Summer Showdown. Tucker has great movement off the ball, with fluid and intentional floor spacing, squares his shoulders up nicely to be ready to catch and fire, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the catch with range on the deep ball, allowing him to score in volume quickly. Given Tucker's shooting ability, defenders are forced to close out, and he has the handles and moves to attack those open lanes, gets good lift on the mid-range jumper, and is a crafty scorer around the basket. Tucker is a pesky perimeter defender that defects passes or pokes the ball out to help his team get out in the open court. He will be a critical scoring option for the Broncos this Summer and into next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2282466' first='Aeron' last='Wallace'] (6'4 | WG) - Sheldon (Sacramento CA)

The 6-foot-4 wing/guard has good size, plenty of moves to create shots, and will be a welcomed scoring addition for the Huskies this Summer and next season. Wallace has solid handles, can orchestrate the offense from the top of the key, with good court vision and decision making to find open teammates cutting off the ball or off the drive and kick pass, as well as up the court off the rebound. Wallace has shifty moves with wiggle to create space from his defender, using the crossover, spin-move, hesitation, and toss-cross to get his defender off balance, has touch on the floater down the lane, as well as good lift on the jumper with accuracy from the mid-range to the 3-point line off the bounce. Wallace moves fluid off the ball, gets to his shot spots, and is effective on the 3-ball off the catch. He will be a welcomed scoring punch to go alongside Sabir.
