rnA physical downhill driver, Simmons got to the rim at will while taking care of the rock and getting off clean, on-balance shots at the rim. He uses his frame to either bully past his matchup or get under the defender to swim past them and get to the rim. With the ability to step out and stretch the floor from beyond the arc (2/4), Simmons served as a relentless weapon for Gaithersburg in a 4-point win over South River.

Defensively, the full range of ability was on display as an on-ball and help side shot-blocker with 6 on the night, he stays down defensively and times his leaps very well to block shots but also is showing more awareness to grab the rebound from those misses and start his team in transition going the other way. Offensively, Fort struggled with some turnover issues and didn’t shoot the ball great from the floor but he did show that he can bring the ball up in a pinch. Fort just needs to hit the wing, face cut, and get the ball back on the roll to the rim to cut down on some of those turnovers that happen in traffic. Knocking down a perimeter shot and a pull-up elbow jumper off the bounce were encouraging signs of offensive development for a prospect that I remain very high on in the 2025 class.

-Long possesses a smooth offensive game, getting to the rim or getting to his pull-up off the bounce with consistent fluidity. An advanced handle allows him to navigate through tight spaces to split double teams or attack traps to create a good look at the rim. He harnesses his quickness and speed to get past his matchup in order to get to his spots on the floor to make a decision. The next step in his development is to reverse pivot and find some passing options when he doesn’t have a good look, drive at a teammate to either hit the backdoor cut or perform a DHO– show more of a mastery of when to score and when to facilitate.

-Massaquoi’s inside-out ability is starting to show more signs of development on the perimeter as he knocked down both of his 3-point attempts and has improved his handle. His lateral quickness needs to improve in order to play the 2-guard role or be a college wing, but right now he fits well as an undersized forward that can defend, rebound, bully his matchup to the rim, and hit some perimeter shots. The athleticism and vert have improved, with that explosiveness lending himself a more improved ability to switch on the perimeter and grab rebounds in traffic.

-Tillman came on late in this one but impressed with his physical downhill drives to the rim. With the upper body to finish well around the rim and the core strength to block out taller players, he has improved his handle to give himself a bit more perimeter wiggle although he is more of a straight-line driver. While I need more leadership from a senior out on the floor, his blend of raw power and agility make him an intriguing prospect to watch in the 2025 class.

-Corrigan’s selling point as a basketball player is most certainly the shooting, with the ability to hit movement 3s off screens, C+S looks, and now– a few jumpers off the bounce. He relocates well to space and sets screens to free himself up for open looks as the defenders sort through the screener’s dive to the rim. The improvements to his handle are very noticeable– as he hit several teammates with one-handed chest passes off the bounce and is able to create more separation on an island to get off a jumper. High academic schools need to be tapped in.
