About Jayden
Expert Analysis
Jam Hines | Prep Hoops Scout
Fort flourished as a play finisher and defensive playmaker by leveraging his explosive athleticism, fluidity and length. He displayed some versatility in his rim finishing from powerful above the rim dunks to off to below the rim finishes with his off hand and sound footwork. Everything seemed to come together for him offensively in his 30-point effort against the NW Rotary Rebels (11.9 points per fame).
Fort continues show glimpses of a reliable mid-range jumper, especially around the elbows. I’m excited about the upside there to become a dangerous mid post player.

Jayden Fort has established himself as a reliable force both around the rim and in transition. Offensively, he consistently finishes through contact above the rim, showcasing not only his strength but also his athleticism. His scoring arsenal includes a soft touch from the elbow, adding versatility to his game and making him a threat from multiple areas on the court.
Defensively, Fort is a constant presence. He has a knack for altering shots, using his timing and reach to disrupt opponents’ attempts. His ability to grab rebounds with authority provides his team with second-chance opportunities and limits those for the opposition. His defensive rebounding and shot-altering capabilities are critical components of his game, providing a stabilizing presence in the paint.

Fort came to life in the 2H of a closs loss at the buzzer to DM, willing his team back into the game while showing the full range of his abilities. Fort knocked down perimeter shots, picked it up defensively on his shows and helper rotations, and finished plays above the rim. With JR graduating the bulk of their guard depth and scoring, the team will go as he goes this year.

Defensively, the full range of ability was on display as an on-ball and help side shot-blocker with 6 on the night, he stays down defensively and times his leaps very well to block shots but also is showing more awareness to grab the rebound from those misses and start his team in transition going the other way. Offensively, Fort struggled with some turnover issues and didn’t shoot the ball great from the floor but he did show that he can bring the ball up in a pinch. Fort just needs to hit the wing, face cut, and get the ball back on the roll to the rim to cut down on some of those turnovers that happen in traffic. Knocking down a perimeter shot and a pull-up elbow jumper off the bounce were encouraging signs of offensive development for a prospect that I remain very high on in the 2025 class.

A newer name in the class of 2025, it figures to be a busy Spring for Fort. A bouncy 4/5 man who can score around the rim and has good hands and a great motor, Fort ultimately ended up leading Jackson-Reed in both scoring and rebounding with 17 and 9 respectively.

Fort was named MVP of the Capitol Hoops Summer League playoffs and continues to steadily improve as his stock rises. All things considered, the versatile 6’8″ forward might have been a bad omission from the first team.
