Over the past couple of weeks, I ran through updates from our 2027 class in a positional manner and based off the feedback, I'm going to keep it going through the 2028 and 2029 classes.

Yesterday we zoomed in on the top 20 point guards.

For this article, we'll look at the top 15 combo guards. There are a number of ways 'combo guard' can be interpreted, but for me, its someone who can take on a scoring role or more of a ball handling role for large spurts depending on what the team needs.

Moore enters the season as the top combo guard in MD/DC as he's one of the more naturally creative bucket-getters you'll find in the local class. His ability to get downhill, change speed/direction in a flash and finish jumpers or shots around the rim in unique fashion speaks volumes. He quickly gets to spots off the dribble from 17-feet and in before stopping on a dime and rising over any help defenders where he can cleanly get his jumper off. When he attacks the cup, Moore can finish with either hand and convert using the glass on tough angles. He's still growing as a true three-point threat off the catch, but the signs shown progression in this sense particularly as a catch-and-shoot guy.

The Eagles enter the season as a team who has potential to shake things up in the middle of the pack. Moore could be the determining factor as to just how high their ceiling as a team will be.

Expect Williams to step in and be a focal point for head coach Tony Martin this season. He emerged as a true defensive weapon on last year's MIAA title team and even spent time running the show as a lead guard for spurts. He'll likely play in a balanced role of on/off ball duties as a junior, but could be expected to initiate things as a playmaker much more often than in years past.

The 6-foot-3 southpaw guard has an opportunity not only to establish himself as a true two-way impact, but also could have an involved enough role to set up becoming one of the more productive players in the BCL/MIAA by the time he enters his senior campaign.

Hill strung together a monster few months at Capitol Hoops Summer League, ending as the top scorer with 28.8PPG. He also hauled in 5.7RPG and 2.2APG while eclipsing the 30-point mark on multiple occasions. He'll be starring for St. Johns (DC) regional team and looked as as the primary offensive option, which should continue to expand his overall skill as a combo guard. Opposing teams will zero in on his scoring prowess and throw double teams his way, so seeing how he adjusts and uses his gravity to make others better will be something interesting to track as the season unfolds.

A more under-the-radar prospect that I'll be paying close attention to this season is Coard, a 6-foot-2 combo guard with true sniping ability from range. Coard played a vital role as a sophomore on a Severna Park squad who handed Meade one of their two losses on the season and return a few key core players from last year's roster, including Coard, that should allow them to make another run in AA County.

Coard's ability to space the floor with be key to the Falcons' success, but now that teams understand his strengths, the development as a threat off the bounce will be the deciding factor in just how big of a season he puts together.
