Oliver had some nice flashes on Sunday morning against Team Herro. He’s a physical presence inside at 6’7 240, but is light on his feet at that size. He showed the footwork to score with his back to the basket when left isolated, with soft touch to finish off the backboard. Tordsen was difficult to keep off the glass with his strength and size, securing rebounds in traffic to win back possessions for his team. Held down the paint to help his team go 2-2 over the weekend.
You can just tell with every tournament Deng is growing more and more confident in his game. Against Wisconsin Blizzard he had a big size advantage down low, and was looking to establish himself in the paint early on. Lueth started off the game with an alley-oop dunk, and had 8 points just a quarter-way through the game. Lueth has soft touch with his right hand to finish off hook shots or just drop the ball in the hoop with his impressive wingspan. Has to do a better job at staying strong with the ball to avoid guards poking it free, but when he has a bit of time and space on the block he’s very difficult to stop. Defensively his long wingspan allows him to protect the paint and he has good timing to get off the ground and block shots.

Arafan was practically unstoppable when left alone on the block. At 7’1 he was simply too big and too strong for just about anyone to contain. Diane showed comfort turning over his left shoulder to finish with a right handed hook shot, or could back you all the way down and throw down a Shaq-like two handed dunk right over his man. Even showed some touch along the baseline with a couple of one-footed jumpers from around 10 feet. Super intriguing prospect moving forward because he has size and strength that you simply can’t teach, and still has two more years of high school to keep getting better.

You won’t find many other bigs in the Midwest that stand at 6’9 with Gavin’s explosiveness. He’s so quick off the floor to throw down dunks, needing just inches of space to elevate and put two points on the board. Can quickly turn his man baseline and finish with a two hand slam, but is also a capable floor stretcher from beyond the arc. Gavin was holding his own against a D1 Minnesota frontcourt that features multiple D1 offered players, before putting up a big game against a tough Minnesota Select team. Will likely have plenty of eyes watching him during the live period this weekend.

Cole Cole MN Wilcek is such a versatile forward for Minnesota Fury . He’s so dangerous facing up out of the high post because he sees the floor well to hurt you as a passer, or he can put the ball on the floor and attack from those areas. Really good at playing off two feet around the basket and using his footwork to create angles or get his man in the air before finishing. Against Minnesota Lightning on Saturday Cole Cole MN got off to a really strong start knocking down a couple of threes and dishing out some impressive passes. Physical strength and some explosiveness allows him to play a bit bigger than his 6’5 height around the basket.

Chase started off the weekend hot draining four 3’s in the first half of Friday night’s game, and he didn’t slow down much from there. At 6’8 he continued to show a buttery stroke from three, as well as some impressive athleticism slashing to the basket. Chase showcased more explosive pop at the rim than I knew he had, as he threw down a handful of highlight reel dunks across the weekend. Continues to make a case for the #1 prospect in Minnesota’s 2025 class, as his combination of positional size, shooting, and budding athleticism helped his D1 Minnesota team go 4-0 over the weekend.

I really liked the toughness that Ian competed with on Sunday morning. After his team gave up 18 first half points to a 7’1 big, Ian matched up with him and was able to limit his effectiveness in the 2nd half of play. At 6’7 he showed a lot of grit to fight for position on the block, and to help limit entry passes where his size would put him at a mismatch on the block. Has a bit of an unorthodox shooting form, but when given space on the offensive end he can put points on the board with his jumper. Thought he brought some nice production to both ends of the floor despite a tough loss to Iowa United.
