(Joseph) – Lueth is a six-foot-eleven-inch center from Rochester John Marshall and he will be playing AAU in the spring with
Howard Pulley
Hoops. Lueth is a big in the middle of the floor who’s always willing to go after defending the basket, and a strong rebounder. Lueth’s big advantage is size, others can’t move him out of the way easily as he showed off at state versus #2 ranked 2025 senior

One of the best available bigs in the 2025 class, Deng turned some heads with a solid performance in the state quarterfinals. He has a strong frame and 7’2 wing span that allows him to finish over size with ease, as he can effortlessly get up for dunks or tip-ins. In a guard heavy event there weren’t a lot of chances for him to go to work on the block, and when he did get touches he was typically swarmed by extra defenders, but he still showed some of his next level potential.

– The six-foot-eleven-inch big man is having a really solid season so far averaging 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Lueth plays the game hard, and contests any shot he can at the rim. He’s long as well as tall, and takes up a lot of space. Lueth was a serious project player last season working his way off JV to Varsity at this time last year and is a very much a quality contributor.

You can just tell with every tournament Deng is growing more and more confident in his game. Against Wisconsin Blizzard he had a big size advantage down low, and was looking to establish himself in the paint early on. Lueth started off the game with an alley-oop dunk, and had 8 points just a quarter-way through the game. Lueth has soft touch with his right hand to finish off hook shots or just drop the ball in the hoop with his impressive wingspan. Has to do a better job at staying strong with the ball to avoid guards poking it free, but when he has a bit of time and space on the block he’s very difficult to stop. Defensively his long wingspan allows him to protect the paint and he has good timing to get off the ground and block shots.

Deng seems to get a little better each time I see him play. I was able to catch a pair of Minnesota Heat games over the weekend, with Lueth making key plays on both ends of the floor. One thing that really stood out was how hard he runs the floor rim-to-rim. Even if it only led to one or two chances each game, he was sprinting up the floor looking to get opportunities in transition. One of those chances saw him catch, take one dribble, move a defender with a fake pass, and then throw down a two handed dunk, showcasing coordination I didn’t know he had at 6’11. Teams were throwing a lot at him to try to prevent him from getting post touches, but when he did he scored or was fouled on a vast majority of those touches. Soft touch with his right hand and a monster frame that makes it so hard to contest him around the basket. On the defensive end he’s a shot blocking threat inside who also stepped out and blocked a pair of jumpers on the perimeter. He’s not going to be jumping out of the gym, but Lueth is a bit quicker off his feet than I had initially known.

Deng immediately stands out being the biggest player on the floor in just about every game he plays. Now listed at 6’11, Lueth has a big frame and a wingspan extending to well beyond 7′. He’s a traditional big man who’s going to make plays around the basket, and use his size to free up his guards with screens. Wasn’t putting up huge scoring numbers, but was very efficient when his team was able to get him the ball when isolated on the block. Was able to turn over that left shoulder and use his size to score over opposing bigs with a baby hook. I was impressed with how quickly Deng can run the floor in transition as well. He works hard to sprint rim-to-rim, and in one game on Sunday that resulted in a thunderous two handed dunk.
