Bowden is one of the biggest stock risers in the 2025 class as he moves into the Top 25 at the 25th spot. He showed he can play an unselfish brand of basketball in 2023-24 with United Faith Christian in producing 6.5 APG, to rank ninth in the state, according to MaxPreps. He also averaged 16.6 PPG, 4.3 RPG and 1.6 SPG while shooting 50 percent from the field and 35 percent from deep. Western Carolina has offered him as he heads into a pivotal time in his recruitment this grassroots cycle.
Allen finds himself back in the Top 40 prospects as he checks in at No. 36 in the latest rankings update. He led New Hanover High to an appearance in this year’s NCHSAA 4A State Championship game as the Wildcats went 32-1 on the year. He produced 17.5 PPG, 4.5 APG, 4.2 RPG and 2.6 SPG as he led the way in their backcourt in a variety of ways. He’s a prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to get eyes on this grassroots cycle.
Freeman continues his ascent up the 2025 rankings as he moves into the 41st spot in the latest update out of North Johnston High. He was a top scorer as a junior once again, producing 25.4 PPG, ranking 20th in the state of North Carolina, according to MaxPreps. He’s an efficient floor general who makes plays as a distributor and paint-touching presence. He shot 54 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point land on the year while also averaging 4.8 RPG, 2.8 SPG and 2.3 APG on the year as the Panthers finished the year 21-5. He’s another point guard for DI and DII programs to get eyes on in the region.
Highlights
Fife moves into the 62nd spot in the latest rankings update following another impressive season leading the Sanderson High backcourt. He put up 21.0 PPG, 5.0 APG, 3.2 RPG and 2.1 SPG while shooting 44 percent from the floor and 35 percent from 3-point land as the Spartans made a nice run in the NCHSAA State Playoffs. He’s a strong decision-maker at the point guard spot in the class to catch eyes with with SW15H Elite this grassroots cycle.
Brown was quite the two-way presence in the Trinity Christian School backcourt as one of their floor generals in 2023-24. He moves into the 76th spot after putting up 12.4 PPG, 3.4 APG, 2.3 RPG and 1.1 SPG on 42 percent shooting from the field and 32 percent shooting from behind the arc. He’s a prospect who’s made tremendous strides with his effortless decision-making on the floor. He’s growing into a prospect for DII programs to get on their radar and continues to improve.
Highlights
Vera is another prospect in the 2025 class who made tremendous strides at the point guard role at Northwood Temple Academy this season. He posted 21.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 3.3 APG and 1.6 SPG on an efficient 62 percent from the floor and 39 percent shooting from deep as the Eagles went 20-10 before falling in the third round of the NCISAA State Tournament. He’s another point guard at 6-foot-3 for DII programs in the region to get eyes on this grassroots cycle.
Highlights
Swinney was another lead guard who saw his stock rise after leading the way scoring the ball at Freedom Christian. He was a top scoring presence in the nation, according to MaxPreps, as he produced 27.6 PPG and knocked down 117 3-pointers in 2023-24. He also managed to put up 5.2 APG, 3.5 RPG and 2.8 SPG. He’s a lead guard prospect for DII and DIII programs in the region to get eyes on as he moves into the 87th spot in the latest update.
Batts is another prospect out of New Hanover who’s seen his stock rise given his prowess on the defensive end and at the lead spot. He was a strong force in the backcourt alongside Rodmik Allen Rodmik Allen 5’10” | PG New Hanover | 2025 State NC as he averaged 7.7 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 2.6 APG and 2.5 SPG. He showed his growth on the perimeter in knocking down 45 3-pointers on 37 percent shooting on the year for the Wildcats. He makes his rise to 92nd in the latest rankings update as a dual-sport athlete as well as he also plays football.
