Another prospect for LM/MM D1 programs in the region to look into. He led New Hanover to back-to-back state championship games with his savvy at the lead guard spot. He put up 17.3 points, 5.9 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game for a 30-3 squad who was a top seed in the NCHSAA 4A East Playoffs. He’s a two-way floor general who can impact the game in a number of ways as a scorer, playmaker and defender.

Allen is the kind of point guard every team wants in big moments. He’s got a tight handle, great vision, and a natural ability to control the tempo of a game. Whether he’s threading the needle for an assist, pulling up for a jumper, or getting to the rim, Allen knows how to keep defenses guessing. He also brings intensity on the defensive end, using his quick hands to force turnovers and create transition opportunities. If New Hanover is going to move on, Allen will need to be at his best tonight.

After a very quiet 4 point first half Allen exploded for a 16 point second half and finished with a team high 20 points. In the second half, he got to his spots at will and knocked down shot after shot over a very good Swansboro team. Walked away with MVP honors.

He finished with 24 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals as he showed off his ability to fill up the stat sheet in a variety of ways. He’s an unsigned for DI and DII programs to get to know given his upside at the lead guard spot.

One of the more underrecruited guards in the 910 area, Allen remains a top unsigned prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to target. He’s averaging 16.2 points, 4.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game as he looks to push New Hanover to the NCHSAA State Championship game once again. He’s proven to have a winner’s mentality after leading the Wildcats to a 32-1 record in 2023-24. He’s set to make even more noise in 2024-25 in his senior year.

He’s going to be a steal for whatever college program gets him given his pedigree for attacking the rim and making things happen defensively. He’s got a lot of energy in his wheelhouse as a DII prospect for HBCUs and beyond to know. He easily took home standout honors among PHR staff when it was all said and done with his lead by example mentality.
