Sectional Semis kick off this week on Tuesday! PHI dives into the top ones to watch on the first night of action in 10 Best Tuesday Sectional Semis!

4A

Bolingbrook vs Benet (Aurora East Sectional)

Both of these teams survived scares in the regional final title games. Now they will be refreshed and ready to rock for a chance to get closer to Champaign. I think the fun storyline here is you could very well have the top prospect in the sophomore and junior classes with [player_tooltip player_id='1552393' first='Gabriel' last='Sularski'] (Benet) and [player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] (Bolingbrook). Tons of others as well in this one to track!

Normal Community vs Moline (Pekin Sectional)

Two of the premier programs in central Illinois will clash for the right to move on to the sweet 16! Normal Community is stacked with senior talent led by Wright State signee [player_tooltip player_id='1157233' first='Jaheem' last='Webber']. Moline counters with junior duo [player_tooltip player_id='1545132' first='Treyvon' last='Taylor'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1545138' first='Braden' last='Freeman'] who played well on Friday in the regional title game.

Homewood Flossmoor vs Joliet West (Rich Township Sectional)

HF is rolling through two games. Joliet West got a tough test against Rich in the regional final that will prepare them for this game. D1 prospects all over the floor in this one led by [player_tooltip player_id='1385293' first='Bryce' last='Heard'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1352590' first='Gianni' last='Cobb'] (Columbia) for HF while Joliet West boasts Valpo signee [player_tooltip player_id='1373437' first='Justus' last='McNair'] and junior [player_tooltip player_id='1766497' first='Zion' last='Gross']. [player_tooltip player_id='1404025' first='Drew' last='King'] will need to play up front like he did in the last game for Joliet West to win.

Curie vs Whitney Young (Riverside Brookfield Sectional)

Its all CPS at RB! Curie and Whitney Young is a classic rivalry game between two of the premier programs and coaches in the state. Curie is the veteran squad with UIC commit [player_tooltip player_id='1157211' first='Carlos' last='Harris'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1157209' first='Will' last='Gonzalez'] at the forefront! Whitney Young is mostly underclassmen along with top 5 junior [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'].

Dekalb vs Warren (Rockford Guilford Sectional)

One of the best contests here and PHI's Teddy Bahu will be in the house for this one. Dekalb was dominant when I saw them Friday with 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2105355' first='Davon' last='Grant'] and 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1545123' first='Sean' last='Reynolds'] doing whatever they wanted. Warren has elite freshman phenom [player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] who is playing like a veteran already in big games!

Glenbrook North vs Glenbrook South (Maine South Sectional)

What is better than a rivalry game in the tournament! These two will clash with [player_tooltip player_id='1965004' first='Sam' last='Lappin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1541233' first='Nick' last='Taylor'] being the stars to watch!

Stevenson vs Barrington (Elgin Sectional)

Barrington is led by [player_tooltip player_id='1845354' first='Oliver' last='Gray'] who is a smooth scoring and sharp shooting sophomore. Stevenson has the depth and balance that could give them issues with [player_tooltip player_id='1552481' first='Rocco' last='Pagliocca'], [player_tooltip player_id='1432254' first='Jack' last='Dabbs'], [player_tooltip player_id='1440697' first='Atticus' last='Richmond'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1564889' first='Aidan' last='Bardic'].

3A

Mt. Carmel vs Hyde Park (Hinsdale South Sectional)

Two schools that are less than a mile apart and didn't play during the regular season? Sign me up! Also a pair of high level seniors on the wing in Northwestern commit in [player_tooltip player_id='1373436' first='Angelo' last='Ciaravino'] and top uncommitted 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1373451' first='Jurrell' last='Baldwin'] going at it!

Sacred Heart Griffin vs Decatur MacArthur (Lincoln Sectional)

SHG has been the Cinderella story of the state tournament to date. They have pulled off multiple upsets to reach the sectional after last year where they were a state title favorite all year. [player_tooltip player_id='2376273' first='Zion' last='Lee'] is a young guard to watch. MacArthur has balance and depth!

2A

Peoria Notre Dame vs Rockridge (Canton Sectional)

PND is getting help for their star Belmont commit [player_tooltip player_id='1373440' first='Eoin' last='Dillon'] at the right time of year. Rockridge is a squad that is used to winning in March especially junior [player_tooltip player_id='1428553' first='Landon' last='Bull']!
