This annually loaded event featured matchups between Archbishop Riordan and Roosevelt, Archbishop Mitty and Branson, and De La Salle and Corona Centennial.
Brayden continued his dominant start to the year with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 5 blocks in Roosevelt’s win over Archbishop Riordan. He scored the ball efficiently at all 3 levels, got into passing lanes and protected the rim, and made on target passes to open teammates. Burries earned player of the game honors for his performance in this game.
Darnez was terrific on Saturday in Roosevelt’s win over Archbishop Riordan. Slater finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 three’s in a demonstration of his ability to play well without the ball, attack the basket confidently, and make instinctual plays on the defensive end.
Andrew finished with 25 points (23 in the second half) and 9 rebounds on Saturday in Archbishop Riordan’s loss to Roosevelt. While he started slow, Hillman’s scoring outburst in the second half underscored his rare ability to score the ball from all over the court and make a variety of different momentum changing plays. He continues to look like one of the best points guards in a loaded 2026 class.
DJ Stickman
DJ Stickman
DJ Stickman took over the game at both ends on Saturday in Clovis West’s win over Vanden as he finished with 32 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. He is a tremendous athlete and was flying all over the court to get steals, rebounds, and deflections that led to numerous fast break opportunities for Clovis and were a large part of how they built their lead. Stickman beat defenders effortlessly off the dribble and was too athletic to be challenged at the rim as he finished 14 of 18 from the field in an excellent performance that earned him player of the game honors.
Luke finished with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals to earn player of the game honors in San Ramon Valley’s win over Capital Christian. He led a balanced SRV scoring attack with efficient shooting on catch and shoot opportunities as well as being able to attack the basket confidently and finish with either hand.
Highlights
Myles finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds in Capital Christian’s tough loss to San Ramon Valley on Saturday. Wiggins continued to show pretty good touch and ability to score around the basket, that he consistently makes an impact on the glass, and that he can be a versatile defender.
Jase took over on Saturday to earn player of the game honors in Branson’s close win over Archbishop Mitty. Butler finished the game with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in a performance that showed just how hard he is to stop as he repeatedly hurt Mitty both inside the paint and on the perimeter. Jase has a mature ability to diagnose what the defense is giving him and the skill to take advantage of those opportunities.
Gavin finished the game on Saturday with 16 points and 8 rebounds in Archbishop Mitty’s close loss to Branson. Ripp performed well and showed good footwork in the post, soft touch in the painted area, and the requisite physicality to make an impact on the glass.
Carter made his debut for Corona Centennial on Saturday night in their tough loss to De La Salle. Bryant finished with a nice stat line of 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks but Centennial still have some kinks to work out to figure out how to best utilize him. He has a huge impact on the game as a rebounder and rim protector thanks to his length and his inside scoring ability adds another element to Centennial’s offensive attack.
Leo was electric and earned player of the game honors in De La Salle’s win over Corona Centennial on Saturday night. Ricketts finished the game with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 three’s and had an even bigger impact on the game than that. He galvanized both the team and the crowd at different points in this one to keep Centennial from taking back the lead with timely three’s, steals, and trips to the line.
Ibrahim provided a huge lift in De La Salle’s win over Corona Centennial on Saturday night. Monawar finished the game with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 threes, a few of which were very timely and important in securing the victory. He scored the ball efficiently and effectively and never looked like backing down against the defending Southern Section champs. Ibrahim can fit in almost any offense because of his ability to play with or without the ball and the spacing that he provides to a half-court offense with his three point shooting.
