Brayden chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds in Bellarmine’s win over Head-Royce. He showed a smooth, promising pull-up jump shot, is a good athlete, and has great length. Harris is worth keeping an eye on.
Highlights
Julian had 15 points and 8 rebounds in Bellarmine’s win over Head-Royce. He dominated inside and demonstrated soft touch, good footwork, and a propensity to rebound anything close to him. Gospich took home player of the game honors for his performance in this one.
Highlights
Anthony had 21 points and 7 rebounds for Lincoln in their win over Ygnacio Valley. He shot the ball very nicely from beyond the arc, hitting several catch and shoot threes and looks to have a very repeatable and smooth shooting stroke. Moore can also create for others off the bounce, adding versatility to his offensive game. Anthony earned Player of the Game honors in this one.
Jalen had 20 points and 12 rebounds in Dublin’s loss to St. Ignatius. He played with good strength on the interior at both ends as he was able to score in the mid-range with a variety of moves and made an impact defensively. Stokes also made a couple of three’s as well but would do well to increase his efficiency in that area.
Raymond had 23 points in St. Ignatius’s win over Dublin. He attacked the basket with great aggression in this one as he repeatedly was able to beat his defender off the dribble and get into the paint. Whitley can also finish with soft touch and either hand making him even more difficult to stop in close.
Vince had 22 points, 4 three’s, and 4 steals in St. Ignatius’s win over Dublin. He made plays all over the court in this one as he had several deflections as well as steals and was a constant threat on the offensive end. Crisp stays involved in the offense with or without the ball as a cutter and the threat of his 3 point shot helps the spacing of his offense. Vince earned player of the game honors for his performance.
Gabriel Gutierrez
Gabriel Gutierrez
Gabriel exploded for 41 points in Bakersfield Christian’s loss to Weston Ranch. He scored the ball from all over the court in this one as he finished 16/26 from the field and demonstrated that he was extremely confident scoring in the mid range area as he repeatedly hurt Weston Ranch with pull-ups. Gutierrez projects to be one of, if not the leading scorer in the South Yosemite – Valley league.
Izaias had 22 points and 5 rebounds and earned player of the game honors in Weston Ranch’s win over Bakersfield Christian. He attacked the basket aggressively and was not afraid to draw contact and get to the line. White competes on the defensive end as well making him a valuable player on both ends.
Richard had 19 points and 2 three’s in Weston Ranch’s win over Bakersfield Christian. He picked up several deflections and rebounds to make an impact on the defensive end and provided his team with solid spacing as a three point shooter. Banks plays with great energy and tenacity and is the kind of player whose contributions go beyond the box score.
