About Jalen
Expert Analysis
Britt Wright | Prep Hoops Scout
He’s growing his overall skill set. He’s an experienced player who’s handling the ball more looking to be a facilitator at times. He’s making good decisions when to pass, when to shoot. He has the vision to find cutters, pass it around the perimeter and feed the post. He’s one of our top well rounded prospects. He gives maximum effort defending, rebounding, plus he puts points on the board. Game 1: 7/13, 17pts, 2/3-3ptrs, 5A, 3R.

He’s a hard playing versatile prospect that can effect the game on both sides of the ball. He’s a good defender who can guard multiple positions including the other teams top scorer. At 6’5 he’ll battle for rebounds, he handles, and passes well in the open court. He’ll use his dribble to get his shots in the paint. He can score inside, and knock down jumpers.

Jalen had 20 points and 12 rebounds in Dublin’s loss to St. Ignatius. He played with good strength on the interior at both ends as he was able to score in the mid-range with a variety of moves and made an impact defensively. Stokes also made a couple of three’s as well but would do well to increase his efficiency in that area.

Jalen filled it up on Saturday from all over the court in Dublin’s games against Carlsbad and Los Lunas. He took on bigger defenders on the interior, shot over defenders on the perimeter, and was able to draw contact as well as able to finish through it. Stokes has great shooting touch but his strong build is what allows him to be such a versatile scorer as he often possesses more strength than the forwards he’s playing against.
