Expert Analysis
Paul Hernandez | Prep Hoops Scout
Walker is a lengthy, athletic, and skilled combo guard that can score from 3-levels, is a versatile defender, and has the court awareness to make plays for fellow teammates. Walker had a strong showing to open up play against Campbell Hall of North Hollywood, where he would display his ability to score in volume and catch fire from beyond the arc. Walker keeps the ball on a string, has the moves to create off the dribble, using the crossover, wrap-behind, fade-away, hesitation, and toss-cross to get space from his initial defender, is efficient with the jumper from the mid-range to the 3-point line, and is a creative soccer around the basket. Walker moves well off the ball, gets to his shot spots, squares up his shoulder to be ready, and is accurate with the 3-ball off the catch, has active hands and instincts on defense to jump passing lanes or deflect passes to get out in the open court to push the pace of play, is a good positional rebounder to get points off the put-back, and keeps constant pressure on the opposing team.

Standing 6’4, Walker has used his ability to put points on the board from different areas on the court. He’s a guard with handles to create for himself and others. He doesn’t handle as much, criss crossing the middle for paint points in traffic, but can and will attack from the perimeter when the opportunity presents itself. He can get into a rhythm, paint jumpers, 3-pointers. He’ll rebound and go.

He’s a bouncy guard with multiple ways to get a bucket. Standing 6’3, still growing with a good frame. He has some tools to work with. He created his own shots coming down in transition, on balance making a good moves, not slowing down getting to the rim. He used more moves to attack from other angles around the perimeter, including an off hand floater. He has the mid-range, and in the paint jumper. He hit a couple of 3ptrs.

He’s a big guard standing around 6’3 with a solid body. He has good handles to create his own shot opportunities, working his way into the paint for jumpers or contact layups. He has good hops to challenge shot blockers. He has some natural skills that will emerge at some point. For now he does a good job contributing off the bench. He fills lanes in transition, he’ll hit the open 3 if left unattended, he’ll get a rebound.

He’s a talented prospect with plenty of room to grow his game. Standing about 6’2 and growing he has some natural ability on the court. His ball handling, and movements with ball in hand shows he can create his scoring opportunities, get to his spots, and into the paint to challenge blockers. He’s active on the defensive side of the ball, looks conditioned, bouncy, long arms, lateral movement. He defends on the perimeter, he has the length to guard bigger players. He’ll rebound and go.

He plays a solid game, he handles the pressure, doesn’t get caught up in the moment, with that being said, he’s a solid ball handler with vision and good passing. At 6’2 he has good size and a solid body to run the point, and work off ball, he can create for himself and others.
