2. St. John Bosco – The Braves are another year older and rival Harvard-Westlake with a Big Three of its own: Elzie Harrington Elzie Harrington 6'5" | PG St. John Bosco | 2025 State #25 Nation CA-S , Brandon McCoy Brandon McCoy 6'4" | CG St. John Bosco | 2026 State CA-S , Jr., and Kade Bonam Kade Bonam 6'6" | PF St. John Bosco | 2025 State #110 Nation CA-S .
3. Corona Centennial – The addition of Arizona signee Carter Bryant Carter Bryant 6'8" | SF Corona Centennial (CA) | 2024 State #12 Nation CA-S to go along with UCLA-bound guard Eric Freeny Eric Freeny 6'5" | SG Corona Centennial | 2024 State #73 Nation CA-S keep the Huskies in the Open Division race.
4. Eastvale Roosevelt – With Brayden Burries Brayden Burries 6'4" | SF Roosevelt | 2025 State #13 Nation CA-S and Isaac Williamson Isaac Williamson 6'1" | SG Riverside Poly | 2025 State #351 Nation CA-S eligible, Colorado State-signee Darnez Slater Darnez Slater 6'1" | PG Roosevelt | 2024 State #216 Nation CA-S has plenty of back-court help this season.
5. Mater Dei – The defending CIF Southern Section Division 1 champs are setting their sights on a return to the Open Division with a host of returners from last year’s team and the addition of Orange County Player of the Year Brandon Benjamin Brandon Benjamin 6'4" | PF Anaheim Canyon | 2025 State CA-S who transferred in from Anaheim Canyon.
6. Sierra Canyon – Not the star-studded group we’re used to but the Trailblazers impressed with their high-octane offense and pressure defense this fall. Justin Pippen Justin Pippen 6'3" | PG Sierra Canyon | 2024 State CA-S is one of the most improved players in the state.
7. Windward – The Wildcats have plenty of firepower at the guard position, led by junior Gavin Hightower Gavin Hightower 6'0" | PG Windward | 2025 State #99 Nation CA-S . Coach DJ Gay should see his team take another leap under his tutelage.
8. S.O. Notre Dame – The Knights have one of the best scorers in the country on their side in Houston-signee Mercy Miller Mercy Miller 6'4" | SG Notre Dame | 2024 State #45 Nation CA-S . Will the rest of the tertiary pieces step up?
9. Campbell Hall – Coach David Grace tested his team early and often this fall. Aaron Powell Aaron Powell 6'0" | CG Campbell Hall | 2024 State CA-S , Isaiah Johnson Isaiah Johnson 5'10" | PG Campbell Hall | 2025 State CA-S , Aliaun Iscandari Aliaun Iscandari 6'1" | PG Campbell Hall | 2024 State CA-S and Co. stepped up to the challenges.
10. Damien – The Spartans may well be one of the more “underrated” teams across the Southland. Six-foot-11 center Nate Garcia Nate Garcia 6'10" | C Damien | 2025 State #385 Nation CA-S and Eli Garner Eli Garner 6'6" | SG Damien | 2026 State CA-S should quickly put that to rest.
11. Heritage Christian – Juniors Dillan Shaw Dillan Shaw 6'7" | PF Heritage Christian | 2025 State #163 Nation CA-S and Tae Simmons Tae Simmons 6'7" | PF Heritage Christian | 2025 State #104 Nation CA-S along with freshman guard Josiah Nance form a strong inside-outside trio.
12. Santa Margarita – The Eagles are an experienced group with size and a defensive mindset.
13. St. Pius X/St. Matthias – Tyrone Riley Tyrone Riley 6'5" | SF St. Pius X St. Matthias | 2024 State #152 Nation CA-S and Doug Langford are two of the best players in their respective classes.
14. Crean Lutheran – Rumors are Vyctorius Miller Vyctorius Miller 6'5" | CG AZ Compass Prep | 2024 #28 Nation CA-S ‘s brief check back in to Crean was short-lived. The Saints still have a strong roster including two good sophomores in Kaden Bailey and Braeden Davidson Braeden Davidson 6'3" | SG Crean Lutheran | 2026 State CA-S . Senior Milanas Luksas Milanas Luksas 6'9" | PF Crean Lutheran | 2024 State CA-S and a couple international transfers will contribute.
15. JSerra – The Lions’ ceiling will be dependent on the availability of 6-foot-9 forward Sebastian Rancik Sebastian Rancik 6'9" | PF JSerra | 2024 State #89 Nation CA-S who missed most of JSerra’s fall games. Aidan Fowler Aidan Fowler 5'10" | PG JSerra | 2024 State CA-S , Diego Martinez Diego Martinez 6'2" | SG JSerra | 2024 State CA-S and newcomer Jarne Eyenga will keep this team competitive.
16. St. Bernard – Tajh Ariza Tajh Ariza 6'7" | SF St. Bernard | 2026 State CA-S , Kendyl Sanders Kendyl Sanders 6'6" | PF St. Bernard | 2024 State CA-S and Caleb Versher Caleb Versher 6'2" | CG St. Bernard | 2025 State #222 Nation CA-S are a strong trio who can do damage inside and out on offense.
17. West Ranch – UNLV signee James Evans James Evans 6'6" | SF West Ranch | 2024 State CA-S along with returning point guard Darryl Morris will be a difficult duo to stop.
18. Mira Costa – One of the most fundamentally sound groups in the region will win games with their execution.
19. Redondo Union – Coach Reggie Morris, Jr. was platooning his lineups during the fall and has plenty of pieces who can help. Devin Ringer Devin Ringer 6'2" | SG Redondo Union | 2024 State CA-S is looking to break out this season while SJ Madison SJ Madison 6'3" | SF Redondo Union | 2026 State CA-S and Hudson Mayes Hudson Mayes 6'2" | PG Redondo Union | 2025 State #294 Nation CA-S are two of the more promising prospects in their classes.
20. La Mirada – Julien Gomez Julien Gomez 6'2" | CG La Mirada | 2025 State #264 Nation CA-S anchors the Matadores offensive firepower but highly-touted freshman Gene Roebuck will take some of the scoring responsibility off of Gomez’s shoulders.
21. Rancho Christian – Jayden Smoot Jayden Smoot 6'3" | CG Rancho Christian | 2025 State CA-S , Jaiden Agbo Jaiden Agbo 6'1" | CG Rancho Christian | 2025 State CA-S and Brian Amunkeke are three experienced returners and the additions of Santana Huff Santana Huff 6'2" | SG Roosevelt | 2024 State CA-S and 6-foot-7 wing Yeshua Kesse-Beda give coach ray Barefield enough to pull off some upsets.
22. Etiwanda – Amare Campbell Amare Campbell 6'0" | PG Etiwanda | 2024 State CA-S and Carrington Pierce Carrington Pierce 6'1" | CG Etiwanda | 2024 State CA-S will hold down the back-court on both ends of the floor but the Eagles will need contributions from others to stay in the Top 25 mix.
23. Los Alamitos – One of the better public school programs in the state. Coach Nate Berger has his team playing together on offense and swarming defensively.
24. Crespi – Joe Sterling Joe Sterling 6'3" | PG Crespi | 2026 State CA-S and Peyton White Peyton White 6'5" | SF Crespi | 2025 State CA-S will lead the charge for the Celts who are led by new head coach Derek Fisher. You’ve probably heard of him before.
25. Pacifica Christian/OC – Coach Jeff Berokoff had his guys fully bought in to playing hard during the fall. It helps to have talented pieces like EJ Spillman EJ Spillman 6'3" | CG Pacifica Christian/OC | 2025 State #396 Nation CA-S , AJ Johnson and Logan and Alex Stewart Alex Stewart 6'5" | PF Pacifica Christian/OC | 2024 State CA-S .
