Sebastian finished with 18 points on Thursday afternoon in JSerra’s (CA) tough loss to Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy (TX) 60-42. Rancik faced a tough duo of Doryan Onwuchekwa and Davion Adkins but held up well and was able to show several of the different ways that he can score the ball including off the dribble on the perimeter, as a catch and shoot option, and out of the high post.

Sebastian had an uber efficient 32 point performance on Tuesday night in JSerra’s upset win over Roosevelt. He was incredibly difficult to stop and particularly in the paint as Rancik was able to repeatedly draw contact and get to the free throw line as the big man went 16 of 19 from the charity stripe. Sebastian has very good touch around the basket, is able to finish from a variety of different angles, and is comfortable taking shots off either foot.

had a smooth 24 points for JSerra on Friday night in a win over Edison. Rancik scored in a variety of different ways in this one but the most impressive was his ability to shoot while off balance. Sebastian has an advanced ability to contort his body and maintain his shooting touch which allowed to get to the foul line several times in this one as well as earning traditional three point play opportunities.

Rancik displays a great deal of offensive versatility as he is able to punish smaller defenders in the post, score off a multiple dribble move, and is a good enough 3 point shooter that he stretches the floor. Sebastian needs to improve his handle and defensive ability to be a more well rounded player at the high major level.

Rancik affected the game in multiple ways as he utilized his leaping ability to alter shots on defense, and sky above opponents for rebounds to create second chances for JSerra on the offensive end. Sebastian is a solid catch and shoot threat but likely needs to improve his handle to improve his chances of playing a more perimeter oriented game at the next level.
