Keep an eye out for Part 2 and check the 2024 versions below.
ATHLETE
Vis is a multi sport star. Athletic events and sports in general just seem to be second nature to this young man. Vis’ movement and body control are things that usually can’t be taught.
Savoury can just do things that most people can’t. He can hang in the air for that extra split second, change his direction on a dime and get off the ground in a hurry. Savoury is an elite multi sport athlete.
BASKETBALL IQ
Parker is a perfect example of a “student of the game”. That being said, it’s no surprise that he’s one of the top decision makers with the ball in the state. Parker has a natural feel for where the ball needs to go and when.
Moore was a huge stock-riser since last high school season and I think that this skill is a big reason why. He’s always been a very gifted player, but when he started to get comfortable and feel the game, he took off. Moore will be an exciting player to watch again this season.
BALL HANDLER
I wouldn’t call his handles flashy, but that’s a good thing. Blackwell keeps his dribbles concise and every one of them has a purpose. He’s extremely efficient with the ball and rarely makes a mistake off the bounce.
Highlights
Elam is wicked with his handles. I love the way he uses the ball to create space for both his shot and to make a move off of. Elam can use his handles to get defenders reaching and immediately on his hip.
Highlights
REBOUNDER
Becher is a good old fashioned rebounder. When a ball comes off the rim, it seems like he just wants it more than most. Becher can and will consistently find a body to box out.
Wesolek seems to have glue on his hands. If the ball touches a finger, it’s his. He has a great combination of strength and athletic abilities to help him attack the boards.
Highlights
PERIMETER DEFENDER
Barnes is a big name player that brings an even bigger defensive game. It’s not about points scored for Barnes, but about points not scored against him. He’s one of the most talented 2 way players in the state.
Herron III is probably an underrated defender. But he should know that there are people out there that see his grit on that end. Herron III is an athletic playmaking defender that can slow down the fast break as well as get half court stops.
RIM PROTECTION
There’s that man again. I might have to write a Shannon Henderson Shannon Henderson 6’8″ | C Stockbridge | 2025 State MI book. But really, his name has to be here. He’s one of the best shot blockers in the state.
Highlights
Kindle is a name that coaches and scouts should write down and keep in their back pocket. He’s a long and bouncy rim protector with soft feet. Kindle has a ton of defensive talent and is just at the start of his rise as a player.
