Becher will step out on the perimeter and set a solid screen. He won’t stand and watch after either, but will roll to the rim and clear back out if there’s no scoring or rebounding opportunity.

Post defense has both always been strong for Becher, and 1 of his greatest improvements. He could always out-muscle opponents in the paint, but as his feet improved so did his overall defense. Becher’s D isn’t just strength and power anymore. It’s also athletic.

I’ve seen Jase play multiple times throughout his high school career, and I can confidently say that he’s improved dramatically. He has the ability to dominate the interior on the defensive end without jumping and fouling. Thus, putting him in a better position to get more rebounds and play more minutes. Offensively, he sets good legal screens and has solid footwork on the inside with a soft touch around the rim. With Linden dropping down to Division 2, they could make a run next March, likely led by Becher.

Becher is one of the quickest developing post players in the state. He’s made an early statement this spring with Rice Basketball Academy. Becher has always been tough as nails on D and a terrific rebounder. But he’s showing great improvement in his knowledge of, and ability to, get open in the paint. Becher is finding space and earning position early.

I like the way he’s moving laterally in the lane and challenging shots. Becher is walling up and making easy looks difficult to come by. He looks more athletic and is getting down the floor quicker. There’s tons of talent and upside with this young man.
