There’s a lot of excitement in Kalamazoo right now revolving around the WMU basketball program. Vis just added to what looks like a stellar future Broncos class. We all know he can shoot and score the ball, but he’s very underrated when it comes to offensive foot speed and his ability to change direction.

is indeed everything he’s stacked up to be. He’s just incredibly efficient on the offensive end. Vis creates space and seemingly always makes the right decision on his way to the rim. His jumper, as good as it’s always been, has never looked better.

Ok, we all know that Vis is an elite all around athlete. One of the best overall in the state hands down. He’s the kind of young man that’s just good at stuff. Give him a croquet mallet and he’s probably going to run it. Vis just scored his 1000th point on Friday in a win against Kenowa Hills. He has the ability to score at the rim by utilizing angles as well as with a knock down jumper from behind the arc, Vis currently sits at 6th on the South Christian all-time scoring list. I can very easily see him giving all time in state greats like Matt Steigenga and David Kool a run on that list.

Vis is a multi sport star. Athletic events and sports in general just seem to be second nature to this young man. Vis’ movement and body control are things that usually can’t be taught.

You can’t be what Vis is athletically without a strong mental game. Basketball IQ doesn’t sum it up with this young man. He has more of a sports IQ. Vis can grab a ball of any shape and size and just be great. That doesn’t happen by accident or by just with physical tools. An athlete like Vis has to be exceptional upstairs.

An injury ended his season too soon, but his effect on his team and his performance left a lasting impression. Vis was a versatile scorer that could finish at the rim as well as light it up from behind the arc. I don’t think this will be the last time we see Vis’ name on this list.
