ATHLETE
Johnson has been a hot name after his performance at the Top 250. The young man can jump through the roof, play over top and get up and down the floor with ease. Johnson is his own highlight reel.
Brock recently committed to Aquinas for both basketball and track. Of you can play multiple sports in college, you’re an elite athlete. He can rise up and do things with the ball that 99% simply can’t do.
BASKETBALL IQ
In my opinion, Lewless has one of the most impressive basketball IQ’s in the country. He has an uncanny feel for the game that allows him to control the action. Lewless is an outstanding decision maker, the kind of player you want to have the ball crunch time.
Highlights
Winners win because they know what’s going on around them and have the ability to react in the right way. That’s a perfect definition of Bentley’s game. He knows what his team needs and consistently delivers.
BALL HANDLER
Gregory fits this spot nicely. He’s super quick with the ball in his hands and can build speed quickly. Gregory can create space for his jumper with his handles and can dribble through pressure.
King Jr. is in my opinion a very underrated prospect. He’s an ace when it comes to handling in and dribbling through pressure. King can attack the rim and create for himself and teammates off the bounce.
REBOUNDER
Ouwinga seemingly has all the tools of a terrific rebounder. He has the height and length needed to dominate the glass. But he also has an understanding of positioning and reading the ball off the rim.
Davis is one of the best rebounders in the class of 2024. He has the strength and frame needed to be a monster on the glass. Davis has the ability to bully players in the lane and own his spot under the rim.
PERIMETER DEFENDER
Weaver is another extremely underrated player and prospect. Defense is often as simple as wanting it more and that’s right up this young man’s alley. Weaver will grind out every single defensive possession.
Highlights
We often focus on Vermaas’ overall athleticism on the offensive end of the floor. But really watch his D the next time you see him on a basketball court. He uses that same athleticism and energy to be an elite perimeter defender.
RIM PROTECTION
Risdon is an absolute terror for opponents trying to finish at the rim. He uses his length to challenge a ton of shots and send back a lot of them. Teams have to plan around him being under the rim.
Highlights
Wedlow is the definition of vertical basketball on the defensive end. He can get off the ground in a hurry, go straight up, and send a shot back. There’s no such thing as an easy look when you have to finish around Wedlow.
