I wanted to go in another direction since I’ve covered Ann Arbor Huron, but I couldn’t do it. If the River Rats win and advance, Moore will have a large say in it. He’s experienced and tough and can match up athletically with the talented East Lansing team. I anticipate seeing Moore use his strength to get to his spots.

Moore’s game actually looked a lot different than it did in district play. Which is a testament to his ability to read matchups and play multiple brands of ball. In districts he played a power game, bulldogging his way to the rim for good looks. This game, against generally bigger competition, he played a more precise style of game. He worked his jumper hitting a catch and shoot 3 and even drew a foul off a fadeaway. Moore used angles and lanes to attack the rim.

Moore is an elite point guard that took his team to the Breslin Center last year. He can do it again this year, without a doubt. Moore combines top notch ball skills and positional power.

Macari Moore Macari Moore 6'2" | PG Ann Arbor Huron | 2025 State MI was just out there being Macari Moore Macari Moore 6'2" | PG Ann Arbor Huron | 2025 State MI . I actually ran out of room on my paper for all my thoughts and highlights on him throughout the win last night. What stood out to me the most was the power and quickness behind the dribble drive. It’s just next level. Moore has a more than high school level speed bust with the ball in his hands.

Moore led Huron to the Final 4 as a junior. Well he’s an even more seasoned senior now. Moore is an elite 2 way guard that will impact the game on both ends of the floor. He makes Huron a VERY tough out.

Moore had a big game and a big moment all wrapped into 1 contest. He dropped 28 points in the game and became Ann Arbor Huron’s all time leading scorer. That’s what I call a bucket getter.

Iowa State fans should be getting excited about the player that’s on his way. Best part is, Moore keeps getting better. He’s a better player now than he was at this time last year, and he led his team to the Breslin Center last year. His defense has really stood out to me. Moore has made life difficult on opposing guards this season.

The Iowa State commit was just at a different level when I saw him play. It was his perimeter and pressure defense that stood out the most. Moore was just at a different speed and quickness defensively, forcing a handful of turnovers. And he turned those TO’s into instant easy offense on the other end with layup and dunk finishes as well as assists. Moore showed the ability to push the pace with the pass when he advanced the ball by rifling a 1 handed pass up the floor for an assist.

Moore is definitely a scary good guard. SEC opponents have been seeing it for years during high school ball. His combination of ball skills, quickness and ability to use his upper body strength has been jaw dropping and will be again this season.

The Iowa State commit is definitely 1 of the best passers in the state. When it comes to Moore, I really like his ability to create the opportunity for the pass and then to make it on time. He has a strong frame that can can uses to get to the paint. When Moore touches the paint and draws the defense, there’s no hesitation in kicking it out to shooters.
