A ton of top talent left the 4A with the 2023 class, however, every year there are players ready to step up and stake their claim as the best in their class. These next ten players have each built up their game and reputations over the last few years and now look poised to be those top-tier players in their classification this season. So, take a look at this preseason list of the top ten players in the 4A.

1. [player_tooltip player_id='1450486' first='Trevor' last='Hennig'] Mt Si

He just announced his commitment to Weber State last week and it's pretty apparent why the Wildcats wanted him. Hennig is an athlete at the guard spot who shoots with high efficiency from 3-point and has been able to reliably hit the tough shots off the dribble this summer. He plays hard on both ends and was an easy choice for the top spot.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='1685491' first='Lattimore' last='Ford'] Mt Si

Just entering his sophomore season, Ford is a monster in the frontcourt and continues to get better from the wings too. He's an elite athlete with pogo-stick bounce that helps him get board after board and get critical second-chance buckets. He's also a versatile, impact defender with strength, quickness, and anticipation.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='1450494' first='Blake' last='Forrest'] Mt Si

The third Wildcat already, Forrest is the quintessential point guard. He prods defenses with the dribble, runs the pick and roll to perfection, can space the floor, and plays intense defense. He averaged 13.6 points, 6.0 assists, and 2.2 steals per contest last season and should increase those stats across the board in 2023-24.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='1450501' first='Henry' last='Sandberg'] Gonzaga Prep

A sound scorer, Sandberg makes the list because of his consistent and steady offensive play. He's not really a flashy player but kills defenses from the mid-range, is a strong 6-foot-4 finisher at the rim, and does an excellent job getting to the line. He's no slouch defensively either, but he's proven he can be that rock offensively and you know what you're getting when he steps on the floor.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='1450989' first='Beckett' last='Currie'] Camas

An electric player who has really skyrocketed in his development over the last two years, Currie is really effective creating space with the ball and can be a high-volume, high-efficiency shooter from 3-point. His scoring ability gets a lot of the attention, but he's also a pretty capable playmaker and I think his passing tends to get overlooked. He can seamlessly get from his dribble to the pass or the shot and is able to execute those quick decisions.

6. [player_tooltip player_id='1612241' first='Dalton' last='Brown'] Tahoma

He's a huge force around the rim. High motor, great instincts, and strong yet soft hands make Brown one of the best rebounders and rim finishers in the 4A. He's shown more capabilities from the perimeter this summer, not just improving the outside shot but also taking defenders off the dribble. He's also a rim-running power finisher in transition who's looked more aggressive at the rim over the summer.

7. [player_tooltip player_id='1450999' first='Cesar' last='Hernandez'] Davis

The Davis point guard is a smooth operator who can hit you with a flurry of moves to create separation and sink shots from mid-range to 3-point. He's also a pretty crafty finisher at the rim and is really an efficient player making the most of his touches and dribbles to get into threatening areas. He has Davis looking like a real contender this winter.

8. [player_tooltip player_id='1450498' first='Luke' last='Westerfield'] Richland

One of the top rim defenders in the 4A, Westerfield is a reliable rebounder and defensive anchor inside, but he's also been expanding his offensive game over the last two years to get more efficient with post moves and more consistent with that jump shot. If he can continue that offensive growth he can really be a key guy in getting Richland deeper into the state tournament.

9. [player_tooltip player_id='1611993' first='Langston' last='Ford'] Mt Si

One more from Mt Si, [player_tooltip player_id='1611993' first='Langston' last='Ford'] might be the best defender and rebounder on his team, as well as one of the best in the 4A. He's a super athlete who can guard bigger posts, shows no problems guarding on the perimeter, and has the fight to put together some big rebounding games. He's also a guy that knows how to find space around the rim and works his tail off to get out in transition and finish plays.

10. [player_tooltip player_id='1409013' first='Peter' last='Dress'] Kamiakin

I gave Dress the last spot on this list because he has to be one of the best shooters in the state. Not only is he an efficient shooter with deep, deep range, but he's also shown a much better game around the paint with improved footwork and moves with his back to the basket. He's got the size to take most guards and wings to the post and as long as he stays aggressive near the hoop he can continue to be one of the top players in the 4A this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450566' first='Devin' last='Whitten'] Curtis, [player_tooltip player_id='1612191' first='Josh' last='Woodard'] Richland, [player_tooltip player_id='1450499' first='Kofi' last='Peyton'] Federal Way, [player_tooltip player_id='1612261' first='Adam' last='Davis'] Tahoma, [player_tooltip player_id='1612190' first='Dylan' last='Wiggins'] Bellarmine Prep
