Unfortunately, I was not able to attend Sunday’s games but there were plenty of exciting games on Saturday including Harvard Westlake vs Lynwood, Crean Lutheran vs Rolling Hills Prep, and Campbell Hall vs St. Pius X Matthias Academy.
Robert was excellent for Harvard Westlake on Saturday in their win over Lynwood (RealRun) as he earned Player of the Game Honors. He played with great strength as he out muscled smaller defenders to score in the paint, was dynamic in transition, and provided valuable floor spacing because of his 3 point shooting ability.
Highlights
Trent was typically solid over the weekend for Harvard Westlake in their win over Lynwood (RealRun). Perry scored the ball confidently at all 3 levels, created a multitude of opportunities for others to score, and defended tenaciously.
Chace showed his toughness this weekend for a undermanned Lynwood team in a tough loss to Harvard Westlake. He has a great first step and is a blur with the ball, attacks the basket fearlessly, and has good instincts on the defensive end.
Kaiden was terrific this weekend for Crean Lutheran in their win over Rolling Hills Prep, earning Player of the Game honors for his 26 point performance. He shot the ball very well from 3, finished effectively around the basket with both hands, and earned several trips to the free throw line.
Mateo showed off his scoring ability and good handle in a tough loss for Rolling Hills Prep to Crean Lutheran on Saturday. He used his handle, creativity, and touch very effectively to score in a difficult matchup against a talented Crean guard duo.
Isaiah was dynamic this weekend in Campbell Hall’s tough win over St. Pius. He has a tight handle, a mature understanding of how to position his body to get an advantage against whoever is guarding him, and great touch around the basket. Johnson is also a great player in transition.
Aliaun showed off his scoring and playmaking ability this weekend for Campbell Hall in their win over St. Pius, earning Player of the Game honors for his performance. Iscandari repeatedly attacked the basket with either hand, got to the free throw line, and made plays for others in transition.
