The Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp is always a great opportunity to get a look at the young talent in the state. PHI was in the house for the entire event. Here we dive into Pangos Camp: Top Illinois 2027 Prospects!

[player_tooltip player_id='2323647' first='Howard' last='Williams'] (Whitney Young)

This was the best we have seen the 6'5” Dolphins incoming freshman play. He is part of the “Big 4” freshman from the Chicago area and in this event he was the best. Well built small forward that shot it as well as we have ever seen him pouring in threes and mid-range jumpers throughout the event. Also mixed in turnaround jumpers out of the post along with scoring on the block when being defended by smaller or weaker opponents. Tough rebounder that snatches them in traffic and has the toughness/athleticism to finish at a high level in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323571' first='Jaxson' last='Davis'] (Warren)

The more and more I watch Davis play the more he reminds me of a young Jalen Brunson at the same stage. Both lefty scoring point guards from the northern suburbs of Chicago. The 6'1” lead guard is a southpaw that can score from all three levels. Step back threes, mid-range jumpers on the regular, and nifty buckets around the hoop with his soft touch finishing game. Willing passer that through lobs and pushed ahead with passes that led to points in transition for others. One of the best in the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125612' first='Devin' last='Cleveland'] (Kenwood)

Cleveland is one of the premier freshman in the state. The 6'1” long armed guard has already made an impact on the high school level over the summer and was comfortable in this setting creating off the bounce for slick layups winning off the dribble along with pulling up in the mid-range for jumpers. Stretched it to three on several occasions as he has range to well beyond the three point arc.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] (Bolingbrook)

Thompson is one of the truly elite players in the 2027 class in Illinois. Lefty 6'1” shooting guard shot it at a high level throughout the camp from three on spot ups and pulling up off the dribble. Can create on his own from all three levels with his slick handles and finishes well in the paint on reverse layups. Quick hands defensively allow him to create turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125634' first='Hayden' last='Schroeder'] (Wheaton Academy)

A lot of intriguing tools here physically with this 6'5” center that should continue to grow. He is a good area rebounder that was impactful cleaning up on the offensive glass for second chance points and was fluid getting up and down the floor running for buckets in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323597' first='Kareem' last='Esily'] (Kindi Academy)

Esily is a smaller lead guard at 5'8” that is a good on ball defender putting pressure on opponents which is rare in a setting like this. Has shake off the dribble and likes to go to a scoop shot to get it up over taller defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323599' first='Jamarri' last='Fears'] (Joliet West)

This was my first look at the youngest Fears brother who will be entering high school this season at Joliet West. In the face it is crazy how similar he looks to Jeremiah. One thing that is different with this one is Jamarri is a southpaw! Slick ball handler and had a nifty layup in the limited viewing we got to see of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323618' first='Alexander' last='Sirbu'] (Buffalo Grove)

This Buffalo Grove 6'6” center has good size and proved to be a quality rebounder and shot blocker. Did most of his damage around the hoop while flashing mobility. Intriguing tools to follow!

[player_tooltip player_id='2125620' first='Duke' last='Ross'] (St. Ignatius)

Ross is a rangy shooting guard that has a nice skill set. Finished on dump offs and threw a nice give/go dime. Overall has a clean looking shot and a well-rounded game that should develop long term.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194410' first='Markese' last='Peoples'] (St. Laurence)

Peoples is a thick bodied scoring combo guard that loves to get downhill. Physical attacker of the basket off the bounce that scores in that way most of his points. Rebounds well for a guard including crashing the offensive glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323672' first='Amari' last='Winters'] (Rich Township)

The Rich Township 5'8” point guard caught our attention with his speed in the open floor, active hands getting steals, and athleticism finishing. Also capable of knocking in a pull up three. One to watch in the backcourt next to Coulter!

Noah Emanuel (Whitney Young)

Emanuel screams upside! The 6'9” Whitney Young center has excellent size and length. Raw as a prospect right now, but the physical tools tell you that this is going to be someone to watch down the line!

Chris Chittaro (St. Ignatius)

Left handed lead guard from St. Ignatius is a plus three point shooter that got better as the camp went along settling in knocking in threes along with finding teammates with his playmaking.
