PrepHoops Oregon 2023 Top 250 Expo Preview
In this article:
Registration has been completed and the roster is set for the 2023 PrepHoops Oregon Top 250 Expo, which will take place on Sunday, September 17 at Hillsboro High School. For the second year in a row, the event sold out before the deadline and once again the talent level in the gym will be high. College coaches from the NCAA D-II, NCAA D-III, NAIA, and junior college ranks will be on hand to watch the action and others will be able to catch it live streaming on Baller TV. Here's a quick look at some of the general things to watch out for.
Top Talent Will Be In The House
Many of the top-ranked players in the Classes of 2024 and 2025 have signed up to participate, which should elevate the level of competition. In the senior class,

Youth Will Be Served
With the Class of 2027 handled with the Freshman Expo, the youngest participants will be from the Class of 2026 and there are plenty of this year's sophomores who are signed up. Of these,

Solid Size On the Court
As usual, the majority of guys who will be on the court will be guards but this year there are ten players listed at 6-foot-6 and higher, topped out by

at 6-foot-9. While quite a few of these guys are more perimeter-oriented players, there are several who will no doubt be making their mark in the paint on both ends of the floor. There should be no shortage of battles down low that will be worthy of watching.
It's a Team Game
Several high schools have sent multiple players to play in Sunday's Expo and some of them have even been assigned to play on the same team during the event. Topping them all with six participants is Mountainside, led by two of their starting guards from last year's state tournament team in

Road Tripping From Afar
As expected, most of the players in the gym are from the Portland Metro area with a number coming up from Salem. There are several guys making the drive from further distances and even some who may be flying in from out-of-state. Coming in from the south on I-5 include

The event starts at 3 pm on Sunday afternoon and each of the 12 teams will play three games that run until 8 pm. Attendance is free for all spectators. PrepHoops Oregon will be providing full coverage of the event on Twitter and will have plenty of write-up coverage in the days and weeks after it concludes.
