On Sunday afternoon and evening at Fishers High School nearly 200 of the states best Class of 2027 prospects came to display their skills in front of many of the most influential people in Indiana High School Basketball. This event is the premier way to get “on the radar” prior to your high school career. Over the next week or so it will become clear why we always say “nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops Indiana.” With that said, here are the player evaluations from Team 20 of the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.
***With nearly 200 prospects at our event, our scouting staff (of three people) divided up the 20 teams to ensure that we could get evaluations of every player. However, as you can imagine, this is not the easiest task. Our staff watched each team they were assigned to for a minimum of one full game. There were some late player additions and walk-ups that threw a wrench into some rosters as well. So, if you notice that a name is wrong and/or a player is missing an evaluation please reach out to Brandon Ramsey at coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or reach out via DM on Twitter @BRamseyKSR and I will resolve any issues. Thanks for your understanding and for participating in the 2023 Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase!***
This 5’10” guard has a thick, strong build that allows him to play through contact and absorb his defender on the way to the basket. Delgado showcased his court vision and passing ability throughout Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and looked to have some raw playmaking chops. On the defensive end he was very active and involved using his strength to be disruptive on the ball.

An aggressive left-handed driver with shifty handles and a quick burst off of the bounce, this Cathedral High School product had a strong showing at our event on Sunday. Rodgers creates for himself consistently on the perimeter and has the playmaking ability to dish to his open teammates when drawing the help defense. He was very comfortable with the ball in the open floor and helped to run the show for his team at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.
A 6’0″ guard from Portage High School, this prospect had a very strong showing on Sunday at our event. He scored it from all three levels at different times knocking down an open three-point shot, getting into the paint to finish with a floater, and going coast-to-coast after a steal for a layup. Moran III is a skilled perimeter player that looks the part athletically and can clearly put the ball in the basket. He really got hot for a couple of stretches at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

There is no denying the talent of this prospect from Liberty Christian. Fuller was one of the more dynamic guards at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase displaying his high-level quickness with the ball in his hands. He can get downhill in a hurry, turn on the jets in transition, and then stop on a dime for a pull-up jump shot. There is a real explosiveness to his game off of the dribble that really stands out. Look for Fuller to make an instant impact at the varsity level this coming winter for the traditional Class 1A power.
Sousa is a 6’0″ guard out of Zionsville High School that displayed some potential off of the dribble along with an athletic, projectable frame. He was crafty on the perimeter with some impressive drives, quick change of direction, and a knack for getting a piece of the paint. From there, he showed the ability to make good reads while keeping his head up and scanning the floor for an open teammate. He also finished a couple around the basket of his own with little floaters or creative finishes.
A 6’2″ wing from Forest Park High School, Partenheimer has some really impressive physical tools for a freshman. He has good size, strength, and athleticism which allows him to physically hold his own on both ends of the floor. On the defensive side of the floor he is a very good rebounder and uses his strength to both the ball. Offensively, he finishes through contact consistently and is hard to keep from getting to his spots around the basket.
Knaga is a tough, 5’10” point guard from Noblesville High School that more than held his own against some of the state’s best at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase on Sunday. He is very good ball handler that maintains control when going at full speed and can absorb some contact on the way to the basket. Knaga had a couple of very crafty finishes with both hands at the event and looked comfortable going against pressure and size.

There were few, if any, prospects in the gym on Sunday that had more impressive physical tools than this 6’3″ wing/forward from Terre Haute North High School. Hammond dominated his opponents around the basket and was able to control the space defensively as well. He rebounds at a high level, is very strong, and has a smooth outside shot that looks repeatable. His combination of inside-outside skill led to him being one of the standouts at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.
You can’t teach 6’4″ with this type of length as a freshman. Jones, a Lawrence North High School product, certainly looks the part on the floor with his athletic gifts and it translated to some offensive production. He was able to attack closeouts from the perimeter, finish with some impressive floaters in the paint, and flashed some of his athleticism at the end of his drives at the rim. There is a very high ceiling with this prospect as he continues to mature physically.

Without a doubt, Miamba was one of the best prospects in the gym on Sunday. At 6’5″ with excellent ball handling ability, the Penn High School product dominated off of the dribble. He can get downhill seemingly anytime he wants due to the combination of size, skill, and athleticism. Anytime you come across a guy with his size and true point guard skills you are bound to be impressed. Look for him to be a top player in the coming years not just in the South Bend area, but across the entire state in the Class of 2027.
