After catching some highly competitive matchups between 10 different teams, it’s time to highlight some of the most explosive standouts that made their presence known in the gym on Saturday. Without any further ado, here’s my picks for All-Event First Team.
Highlights
At the top of my list of notable performers is Prince Kahnplaye Prince Kahnplaye 6'0" | PG DeSales | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-2 point guard at DeSales High School. Kahnplaye was a relentless weapon on both sides of the floor, showcasing his ability to maintain ball control at the top of the key, drive to the rim, rain down three-pointers and force turnovers on the other side. Another aspect of Kahnplaye that stood out was his pin-point accurate shooting as well as his ability to lock in during crucial moments. Kahnplaye helped his team achieve victory in a close contest early on in the event, sinking an impressive three-pointer at the buzzer.
I am additionally impressed with Jalen Gribbins Jalen Gribbins 6'2" | SG Taylor County | 2026 State KY , a 6-foot-1 shooting guard at Taylor County High School. Gribbins caught my attention with his red-hot shooting performance, sinking a number of significant long-range jumpers throughout the event. I was additionally fond of Gribbins due to his speed and ability to juke out defenders along the perimeter. On the other side of the court, Gribbins impressed me with his composure and calculated defense, applying considerable pressure to force turnovers and shut down strong shooters.
Claiming the number three spot on my list is Jace Wardlow Jace Wardlow 6'0" | PG Bowling Green | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-0 point guard at Bowling Green High School. Wardlow was an efficient prospect due to his deceptive footwork, scoring ability and selfless playstyle, proving he can blast the opposition in the paint with layups and make smart passing plays. I am also fond of Wardlow’s pull-up jumper and his ability to remain composed in crucial moments. On the other side of the floor, Wardlow impressed me with his physical defense and aggression, proving he can shut down outside shooters and block dangerous shots from anywhere on the court.
Highlights
Another skilled player to keep an eye on is Miles Woodfork Miles Woodfork 6'0" | PG Paducah Tilghman | 2026 State KY , a 6-foot-1 point guard at Paducah Tilghman High School. Woodfork established himself on the court due to his overall awareness and ability to utilize his speed to both catch the defense off guard and get to the rim. Another aspect of Woodfork that impressed me was his precise shooting from beyond the arc as well as his composure under pressure, showcasing strong ball control, smart passing and efficient shooting all throughout the event. Defensively, Woodfork caught my attention with his aggression, ability to disrupt passing inside and his ability to overwhelm defenders from the top of the key.
Highlights
Coming in at number five on my list is Garrett Hatcher Garrett Hatcher 6'1" | SG Greenwood | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-2 shooting guard at Greenwood High School. In addition to excellent footwork and speed in the paint, Hatcher made his presence known due to his selfless playstyle and ability to pressure the opposition into turning the ball over. Hatcher initially caught my attention with his strong ball control and championship mentality, always prioritizing consistent ball movement, smart shooting and organization along the perimeter. I’m also fond of Hatcher’s jumpshot and deceptive footwork as he could draw pressure to the three-point line to open up room in the paint to score layups.
