About Jalen
Expert Analysis
Steve Quattrocchi | Prep Hoops Scout
Gribbins transferred from Taylor County to Campbellsville in the fall and posted his best individual season in high school. A capable shooter at 37% from three, Jalen launched threes at a 2 to 1 rate compared to his two point attempts. Looking ahead, the 6’3 guard will need to get more aggressive getting to the rim in order to have a big Senior season.

Gribbins transferred from Taylor County to Campbellsville and is making the most of his opportunities with a bigger role with the Eagles. Shooting 43% from deep and making 2.5 per game, Jalen is thriving individually but will need to continue to do more as his team is struggling to score outside of Gribbins and Keaton Hord.

Jalen moves up from 80th to 44th in this update. Gribbins is primarily a three point shooter at this point in his career but has flashed the potential to be more than that in the future. It is imperative that he start adding to his game or Gribbins will start to see his stock fall off.

Gribbins is an elite shooter in catch and shoot scenarios. His next step is to get more comfortable attacking off the dribble. As a freshman, he barely even attempted two point shots. As a Sophomore, Jalen will need to show he can do more or schools will sit on him as a shooter and not worry about his dribbling.

Gribbins shot the cover off the ball in my first time seeing him play. Jalen has good size and a quick trigger on his jumper. He’s going to have to get better off the dribble to work his way up to the scholarship level but the 6’2 guard has a good build and was willing to play defense in a camp setting, which is rare.

Jalen moved into Taylor County last year and made an impact as a freshman. Primarily a shooter, I’m interested to see the development Gribbins has made over the last year.

Primarily a 3 and D wing at this point in his development, Gribbins is part of a really talented core of 2026 players for the Cardinals. Jalen will need to refine the other aspects of his game in order to become a more well rounded prospect. But he does play hard and has good positional size at a young age. Keep an eye on Gribbins and his development at Taylor County.
