This issue of our series covers the Mid-State conference in the 2A class, with Reidsville leading the pack and other schools chasing with their own star power. Check out our picks for their all conference team below.
Jayden Davis
Jayden Davis
Last Season Stats – 8.0 PPG, 5.0 APG, 60% FG
Davis is an aggressive point guard who is a creator at spots all over the floor and knows how to find his teammates. He’s a pacey guard who attacks downhill and makes defenders have to worry about him getting to the basket, making his kickouts and finding his teammates much easier. Good body control around the basket which allows him to look to finish through defenders even with his shorter size.
Last Season Stats – 22.7 PPG, 11.2 APG, 5.6 SPG
Neal is an electrifying point guard who will be poised to put up even gaudier numbers than he did as a freshman. His unbelievable vision and passing ability make defenses shiver as he can exploit even tiny holes in the defense with ease. What he lacks in stature he makes up for in quickness and crafty finishing around the rim too, avoiding shot blockers and getting to the paint with ease in order to either pass out or finish.

Last Season Stats – 14.4 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 47% 3FG
Wilkerson is fresh off his first collegiate offer this summer and the sharpshooter will look to become the lead man in Walkertown’s offense this upcoming season. He’s a prolific shooter that will get them up consistently, but don’t think that it means he’s not efficient. He’s got great form and a textbook release to where defender’s contests can’t affect him that much. He’s got a little bounce off the dribble as well, making him a certified next level prospect for some schools in the area.
Last Season Stats – 34.8 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 224 FGM
The leading scorer in the state regardless of class or association, Smith is returning for his senior season to showcase his gifted scoring and creation abilities. He can score it at all three levels with ease which has been known for a while. However, he’s a great facilitator also, with his immense gravity opening up spots for his teammates and he knows how to be unselfish when the time requires. He should be a coveted prospect for D2/D3 schools as an unsigned senior.

Last Season Stats – N/A
Another certified bucket getter, Edmonds is gearing up for a senior year and to me is vastly underrated amongst college coaches. He’s got great burst and pop, as well as elite size at 6’5/6’6, making him a prototypical 2 or 3 at the next level. Smooth jumper which he can hit off the catch or coming off screens on the move. Able to get guys in the post and either go through them or over them depending on his positioning. A scorer’s mentality, but knows when to move the ball as well. Should see his recruitment tick up over the next few months.
Last Season Stats – 21.5 PPG, 15.1 RPG, 4.4 BPG
Harrison is a man amongst boys out on the basketball court, bringing an incredibly physical, workmanlike presence to the low post. He’s fluid and mobile as a big man, owing to his tight end skills on the gridiron. He plays above the rim and finishes with authority which makes him hard to stop on defense. Elite rim protector and rebounder that really cleans up his area when a shot goes up and misses.
