Edmonds had himself a stellar senior year as he took home Mid-State 2A Player of the Year honors and looks to keep West Stokes season alive tonight when they face Reidsville High on the road. He’s a big guard at 6-foot-5 who’s capable of operating in a variety of ways as evidenced by his ability to lead his squad this season. He should be a name to know next season at Converse University.

Edmonds is having himself a busy final season with West Stokes High as they enter the Elite Eight in the NCHSAA 2A State Playoffs on Friday. He moves from No. 66 to No. 47 in the final rankings update before heading off to Converse University, where he should make an instant impact. He’s a big guard at 6-foot-5 who’s hard to guard and difficult to stop, as evidenced by his career-high 47 points this season against conference-foe Reidsville High. They’ll look to knock off the Rams on the road on Friday in the Elite Eight.

Edmonds is a name in the Triad who’s continued to turn heads out of West Stokes High as he heads into his senior season. He’s a high-motor wing prospect at 6-foot-5 who can score in a variety of ways and hold his own defensively. He’s got some versatility to defend multiple positions and doesn’t hesitate to play multiple roles when he’s on the floor. He’s a prospect for DI and DII programs in the region to get eyes on given his abilities on the wing/perimeter and in the backcourt.

He’s got great burst and pop, as well as elite size at 6’5/6’6, making him a prototypical 2 or 3 at the next level. Smooth jumper which he can hit off the catch or coming off screens on the move. Able to get guys in the post and either go through them or over them depending on his positioning. A scorer’s mentality, but knows when to move the ball as well. Should see his recruitment tick up over the next few months.

Defensively, he’s got solid instincts guarding a few different positions given his mobility and length. He’s a name that’s due to grow with the NC Spartans program following their debut season.

He got hurt early Saturday but it didn’t overshadow his contributions for the Spartans offensive attack. He’s an intriguing 6-foot-5 wing that can finish in traffic and knock down shots off the bounce just as well as rebound the ball. He’s a name for DII and DIII programs to get to know as his senior season approaches.
