Anytime there’s a new number one prospect, it’s going to catch headlines. While former top ranked prospect Darryn Peterson transferred out of Ohio to Huntington Prep (and former top 3 prospect Jerry East II transferred to La Lumiere) it became a two-player race for the top spot between Bundalo and Dorian Jones Dorian Jones 6’4″ | SG Richmond Heights | 2025 State #61 Nation OH . This was a tough call to make but I sided with Bundalo after his impressive spring with Wildcat Select saw him debut in national rankings and attract the attention of dozens of high major programs. His current list of offers includes (from most recent to oldest) UCLA, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Purdue, Creighton, Nebraska, Penn State, Georgetown, Syracuse, Illinois, Iowa, Rutgers, Ohio State, Seton Hall, Xavier and Kent State. Bundalo has a unique ability to run the floor, play on the perimeter and affect the game at the rim at both ends of the floor. He’s also started to turn the impressive physical tools he’s always had into consistent production, which is why he’s rose in our rankings and received the offers he has. Bundalo is now at Western Reserve Academy, where he’ll be playing against top competition on a consistent basis, will further allow him to show how he’s developed over the past six months.
West is another prospect who has seen his recruitment pick up with offers from Penn State, Ohio, Xavier, Dayton, Nebraska and Arizona State coming since May. West has matured as a guard, making better decisions with the basketball and showing the ability to run an offense through him. His confidence in handling the ball in pick and rolls has allowed him to create for others and he’s shooting the ball better from the outside as well. Came into high school as one of the most productive freshman in the state and has continued to improve each year, expect West to be dominant in NW Ohio this winter for a Whitmer squad that has the potential to make a playoff run to Dayton.
When we debuted 2025 rankings on the website, Land came in at number three due to his impressive athleticism and movement skills at his size. After scoring 5.7 PPG as a Sophomore for Moeller, it appears this winter will be his breakout season. After a strong month of June with the Crusaders where Land was being aggressive in the paint with dunks and offensive rebounds, Land has also improved his perimeter shot as well. Showing flashes more often of a prospect that has high major potential, Land once again finds himself in our top seven. Land received early offers from Bryant, Ohio, Xavier and Virginia Tech, with Dayton and Indiana State being the latest programs to come calling. For Moeller to be one of the top teams in Ohio this season, Land taking that next step will be a key to reclaiming dominance in the greater Cincinnati area.
A prospect who really helped himself in the summer, Perry continues to perform each time he steps on the court no matter the competition. A leader on the court, Perry makes his teammates better as a passer and competitor that is infectious to the rest of his team. Continuing to grow as a scorer, Perry was third in the GMC at 18.5 PPG as a Sophomore and scored 20+ points in six of his last nine games. Becoming a priority for mid major programs, Perry holds offers from Furman, Miami (OH), Akron, Toledo, Bellarmine and Radford.
McClure had a great summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit, leading his Ohio United 16 U squad to the Grit Region Championship just a week after winning the Adidas Gold East championship as well. Maturing physically and coming into himself as an athlete, McClure has taken a big jump this summer. Already an excellent 3-and-D guard, McClure has become more explosive and improved as a passer off the bounce. So far Siena and Miami (OH) are his only offers, but I expect that list to grow sooner rather than later. Expect a huge Junior season for McClure at one of the dominant programs in central Ohio.
